Stopped in this evening but it was kind of early, around 6pm so it was pretty dead. The music was down way low and it was really warm in there. Not to mention very dark.
The bar itself is really nice. If it was not so warm in there we would have stayed longer. Thumbs up for non-smoking area!!!!
I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because the things I mentioned are fixable and I am sure if we got there later, we may have tried to have something to eat and it may have been a livelier crowd.
As Rick says, this place has a lot going for it but poor management makes me surprised it is even in business. Â If you are a fan of a different team than the locals, be prepared to wait for service and be berated by the male employees. Â Not enjoyable at all. Â Use to be a great place and the women who work there are great in spite of not being treated very well by the manager. Â The prices are high for less than spectacular bar food too.
This place must be a huge tax write off for Eddie. There is never anyone there anymore and the cool bikers stopped going there long ago.
This place has a lot going for it. The food is good - definitely above average as bar food goes. The beer selection is decent. They've got plenty of new flat-screen TVs for sports. Sounds like a recipe for success, right? Yes, but...
A couple of nights a week, they have live music. Some nights it's DJ time. Fine, but... if you want to go have a burger and couple of beers with a friend, be prepared to yell across the table - even if you're outside on the little patio. But this is really my only knock on the place - mainly just because I don't care to deal with a loud, live band in my neighborhood sports bar. Maybe I'm just getting old and cranky.
But on their "off" nights, this place is in my regular rotation for a reason. It's convenient, and the food is darn tasty. It's pretty standard bar fare, but I do recommend the Philly steak sandwich - always a winner. Their chicken sandwiches are quite good, as are the wings. Kudos also to the grilled chicken (and steak) salads - nicely dressed up with feta cheese and walnuts. Plus, this is one of the few places that will cook a burger medium rare if you ask them. Oh, and their fries are huge and bad-ass. The main letdown is their hamburger buns - they're very average, not fresh-baked or anything.
Service is almost always quick and friendly, even when they're busy. At lunch, the place is never busy so it's a nice, relaxing place to sit back with a beer and some good grub. If you're in the area, it's worth a look-see - thumbs up!
