i like the dingy feel of this place. there is one long bar when you walk in, pool tables, and a ping pong table in the back, along with a few arcade games. we stopped in as the last place on our boardwalk beer crawl and enjoyed the beer special and a few games of ping pong. seems like the place you'd go to meet some drunk old men, or to watch the interesting crowd mingle about.
Review Source:I really love this place as a summer hangout spot with friends. You have 2$ pints & 7$ pitchers everyday, you have 5 pool tables, a ping pong table, a few arcade classics in the back, and a jukebox that makes you feel like buying a harley and sporting some leather.
This is a locals bar, you wont find too many obnoxious guidos in here. It has a bit of a "biker bar" feel. But the bartenders are friendly and its just a great no frills bar, what you see is what you get. Grab a barstool and watch the bennies walk by and see how many guys you can spot wearing socks with sandals.
Well, talk about looks can be deceiving! Growing up on the Jersey Shore, I passed this medium sized bar and grill every time I would walk the boardwalk in the summer. I have to say, Â EJ's looks like any other boardwalk bar! Once inside however, you will find the slue of people gathered around the pool tables, and bar. I stopped in the other day. First off, I can't even tell you how blown away I was by the inexpensiveness of the beverages. I ordered a beer and a round of drinks for three friends, and paid less then fifteen dollars. And those of you who have been to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk... you can understand my excitement... due to the fact that a beer anywhere else on the boardwalk is roughly four dollars. The thing that stood out the most in my mind was not the prices. It was the hospitality of the place. I was greeted and welcomed as if I was in someone's home, not a bar where I was one of thirty people. I was truly impressed. So if you're the kind of boardwalk night-life guy or gal... you need to go here... it is worth it!!!
