A word to the wise: go for the beer, not the cocktails, unless you happen to know the bartenders. Â The margaritas truly are terrible. Â I really like that it's outside and high above the street but most of the time the music is bland cover/funk/suburban jam rock, i.e., it's better suited as background noise for that alcohol induced conversation with the "I'm really excited to be here" tourist sitting next to you. Â The servers are really quick and friendly considering that it can get pretty hectic and (I imagine) confusing for them when it's filled to the brim with tourists and locals vying for that one open seat and then rearranging the tables and chairs to accommodate yet another thirsty individual.
Review Source:We were walking down main and could hear the music loud & clear and it was rockin! Â So, we proceeded up the stairs, pulled out our IDs and we were granted access to "El Patio".
The margaritas were OK. Â But, they did accomplish what they were intended for... heh. Â The vibe on "El Patio" was fantastic! Â Everyone was chillin' and several people were dancing and getting down to the live band that was playing, myself included.
We were sitting out on a corner patio, right in the heart of downtown Durango and we were under the stars. Â It was nothing but good times! Â Another bonus was the place was smoker friendly! Â The service was also good! Â Even though the drinks were just OK, the bartenders were smiling and having a good time, even though it was packed and they were slammed.
"El Patio" is a fantastic place to spend an evening and I would recommend it to any local or anyone passing through town. Â There is great fun to be had at this place!
If you are looking for a place to chill on a Sunday evening, swag a few cocktails and people watch from above the street, this is a great place to kick it.
If you are the last order for grub out of the kitchen on a Sunday night, well, serves you right for waiting till 930 pm to chow down. Â Not so good.
Great hustle from the staff on the over priced drafts.
