I was there for a Buckcherry concert. The band was EXCELLENT but the Elbo Room was AWFUL! It extremely hot; so hot condensation was dripping from the ceiling onto us  in the "ballroom". The ballroom is a long empty partly tiled room, and the floor was dangerously slippery. They only had 2 bartenders working their main bar. It took over a half hour to get drinks! The make-shift bar in the "ballroom" wasn't much better, also with only 2 bartenders. The place ran out of water at 9pm., and despite the heat, audience members were told to, "drink beer instead."
I love seeing live bands and often travel to bars, fairs, and festivals to see them. The Elbo Room was the WORST venue I have ever been in. I will not go back and I would recommend no one else go there either.
Located in downtown Rhinelander, I stumbled upon this place after having dinner next door...While walking by, I saw a sign for live music and figured it couldn't hurt to check out the venue.
$10 (cost at the door) and a Coors Light later, I was pleasantly surprised by the Elbo Room...
Although metal/punk rock is far from my normal "scene", I didn't hate this place. Â Despite initially feeling a bit like an "outsider" in the hard rock/punk/metal atmosphere, I quickly became comfortable milling around the venue. Â
Thus, even if you aren't a normal metal fan, I assure you, the venue is still one worth checking out.
