Enjoyed a very nice meal last night. Â The chicken and vegetable soup was great. Â Many large pieces of chicken, Â fresh vegetables, and a made from scratch tasting broth. Â The garden salad was good, and we both wished that the breads where more outstanding.
But the main dish (Baby Walleye) was fantastic. Â We each received 2 large filets that where lightly breaded and deep fried.
For desert we enjoyed a seasonal treat of Strawberry Shortcake.
I was here as a destination because this is where they had the yearly event celebrating the "supper "club. This place had one of the best buffets ever. I've never seen cheese curds on a buffet. It's the only thing I went back for, even though I was stuffed. The other highlights were bbq ribs and prime rib. They had some really good side salads and chicken wings. The owners and staff were great. I got quite the education on the second thing WI is famous for.
Review Source:This is a wisconsin classic! Â A delightful, very old wisconsin supper club. Â Log cabin, built in the 30s - this place screams vintage Wisconsin kitsch. Â Bar was busy, even for a tuesday, and service was attentive. Â Be sure to grab a few drinks before dinner.
Dinner service was outstanding, prices reflect quality and value. Â Complimentary crackers & cheese is a nice touch, meals come with salads or soups - everything was good. Â I had the icelantic haddock - it was a massive meal I almost couldnt finish. Â Taste was spot on delicious, a perfect Wisconsin fish dish. Â Others had the ribeye (delicious), the Walleye platter (incredible!) and the chicken alfredo (classic!). Â
Absolutely recommended!
