I came across this gem of a dive while in San Miguel for the weekend. Â I was the only guy without a cowboy hat, but they welcomed me with open arms. Â Lou, the bartender, did a wonderful job working the bar - always making sure you did not run dry. Â Reasonably priced, minimal pour..
It is as country as you can get with a wood stove in the corner, dead animals, all with horns, on the walls. Â There are several pool tables in the back out of the way for those wishing to play. Â There is one tiny TV mounted on the wall, which everyone ignores for the most part. Â I will be stopping here each month to take over the stool at the end of the bar.
I can't believe I haven't Yelped this place yet.... I've visited here numerous times.. whenever we stay in Paso Robles this is our go to spot... meet up with other friends who are visiting... quick shot and a beer before we go tasting and a shot of tequila and beer before dinner... you get the picture.
Last time I was in here we played the dice game where you had a chance to wine a jar full of cash. Â The four of us took turns rolling dice... it was my turn but me being me... I told my friend Deb to go ahead... she rolls two 6s... she WON! Â She took home all the cash in that jar... a few hundred!!! No joke.
This is one of those old school locals joints... they even treat the occasional  visitor who stroll though with care too.
Look forward to going back... always do when we are in town.
