A gastropub in Fredonia?  This place is great! Great beer and great food. I especially like their Bavarian pretzels and beer cheese. It's crazy good. I also recommend their truffle fries and any of their burgers.

I have been to EBC many times for food and drinks, but my housemates and I went a couple days ago for a going away dinner.

At first, I thought our waiter was new because he was very hesitant with everything he said. However, after a few minutes he seemed to almost warm up and was actually a really friendly guy. I'm still not sure if he was new but he served us well.

Now the beer. I generally like all the beer EBC brews but this time I saw on the menu that they had some beer "guests." Two of the guest beers were from Southern Tier in Jamestown, which happens to be one of my favorite breweries. So I got the Southern Tier LIVE. It's a delicious, citrus-y pale ale that left me wanting five more pints.

Our food came relatively quickly as far as I know (we were playing hangman). I ordered two appetizers, the Pork Flautas and their new "Fresh Cut Yukon Gold French Fries." As soon as I ordered the fries our waiter became overly excited, claiming they were so much better than the old fries. I must say, they are better than the old fries (which I'm pretty sure are just straight cut frozen fries that come in a bag) and I received a heaping plateful. But they were a little soggy. If they were crispy, they would have stolen my heart for sure. Our shy waiter had to mention the fries every single time he walked by our table. Unbeknownst to us, we were getting a history lesson in fresh cut yukon gold potatoes.

I got the Pork Flautas without knowing what they were but I discovered that at EBC they are basically tiny tacos. They came on a slider plate and had a great presentation. The meat was delicious as well as the salsa verde they put on top. After doing a quick Google search, I discovered that the way they serve them is actually much different than a traditional Mexican Flauta, but I certainly approve of the EBC version.

Overall, it was a good experience. If only those fries were crispy..

I don't give many five-star reviews, but Ellicottville Brewing deserves every star. I absolutely love local craft breweries and their foodie-centric restaurants, so I tend to be overly critical about places where I have high expectations, and EBC met and exceeded every single one.

The beer is absolutely amazing. I love flavorful beers that make you smile all the way down, and the Nitro-Stouts at EBC made me grin like an idiot. They were full flavored and very smooth. I am going to long for those beers for quite sometime. They were reasonably priced at $3-5 a pint. The beer alone would earn my patronage, but wait there's more!

The food, and particularly the specials, are absolutely divine. They're priced in an upscale manner, so it's not a place for a cheap bite, but the quality of food that they serve is very high. I enjoyed the Mushroom Ravoli with a roasted chicken breast and artichoke cream sauce. The chicken was moist and the pasta burst with flavor. I'd recommend it to anyone who asks.

EBCis a wonderful restaurant and I would go there again in a heartbeat.

Upstairs and out the back doors, there is an open air deck where you can drink and smoke at the same time! Maybe not strictly legal, but ... welcome to New York State.

This is the local branch of a well established micro brew restaurant originating from its namesake town. Compared to nearby pubs, the prices are higher, however, the quality of brews is much higher.

This variety of micro draft brews is unique to the area. The place is a bit upscale by local standards, but college towns like this don't expect much even from a gastro pub.
The martini specials shouldn't be ignored either. The focus on beer is offset by a well stocked bar with enough flavors to please.
The wide selection in both quality food and quality drink tends to make this spot a popular choice for parents visiting college students. Its also a popular choice for upscale date dinners. The point is, its a slight bit more expensive, but the dining and drinking experience tends to hit everyone's pleasure center.

Groups will find the upper floor offers more room. Be careful on the steps, and remember the restrooms are on the main floor. If you get too tipsy, you wouldn't be the first person to go bumpitty-pants down the back stairway.

Note: The kitchen does close about 10PM, well before the bar closes at 2AM.

In spite of all the mention of stairs, wheelchair access is actually quite good on the main floor. Short tables are directly inside  the front door. The runway back to the restrooms might get crowded, so crack ankles if you must.

Parking is available in a municipal lot behind the building, with alley access directly along the building's east side,.

Great place for dinner. Food is great, wait staff is friendly and prompt. There usually is abit of a wait during the dinner hours but if this place has any faults, that is the only one. Solely for the wait time this place gets 4 stars. Try the french onion steak sandwich or any of their steaks in general, all of it is amazing and fairly priced for the immense quality. The African peanut soup is a must try and every person who I take there agrees.

Decent food, friendly folks, and the beer isn't half bad either. A nice place to stop for a meal when your driving on the New York State Thruway.

Ellicottville Brew is eclectic and has it's own microbrewery on the premises, the decor is beautiful old wood stairs and banisters, with old oak booths in the upstairs dining area.  the food is good and has a exotic flair to ordinary style pub food.  the price is a bit elevated but not so that it empties your wallet.  They have other beer and beverages as well but most patrons are there for the unique brews of beer.
They employ a Brew Meister so expect some real unique blends to tempt your pallet..

Beer is fair but some start strong with rough finishing notes and some have a so so start with a nice finish. Average, pleasant to drink beer. It's not fair to really judge it, as we just came from Southern Tier, an amazing brewery! I was looking forward to some of their food but the kitchen was closed when we got here just before 10pm on a Saturday. Perhaps we will try it again on our next visit to see if we can have a nosh or try one of their seasonals that are not available now.

This is a beautiful restaurant located in a red brick townhouse-style building in the heart of downtown Fredonia. The dark and lovely bar is on the first floor, along with a handful of mostly raised-seating tables. There is ample seating upstairs as well as a popular back patio open during warmer months.

The menu features standard pub-grub fare, albeit on a higher plane, as well as a few slightly more exotic options such as the incredible Spicy African Peanut soup, an Oktoberfest platter and the Sesame Calamari. The veggie burger is unique and massive. Chock full of veg and some magical-tasting binding element, it tends to fall apart when I eat it. It's not so much a sloppy sandwich as it is unwieldy. So you've been warned: Cut it in half or consider eating it with a fork and knife.

Some people complain the restaurant is on the expensive side, but I never felt like I didn't get my money's worth.

The Spicy African Peanut Soup is fantasy-worthy. A thick, hot peanut butter chowder with chunks of chicken, it's slightly different every time I order it and I've never had anything like it anywhere else.

I visited Ellicottville Brewery when I was on vacation. The selection of beers made my mouth water. We were actually there for a lunch one day and a dinner two nights later.

The servers and service were fast and friendly. The burgers and fries are delicious and generous. The fiancees dinner was great. I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese... silly me! People from that far away from the coast have no idea what a lobster is... LOL What I got was a bunch of fake/imitation crab meat that didn't work well with the cheese sauce.

As mentioned, everything else was great. so don't order the Lobster Mac! Aside from that... Kudos to the place for some great craft beer!

great food at a great price the beer is expensive for small town standards but its all small craft microbrew made at the other location in ellicottville. as a fan of stouts i highly reccomend the oatmeal stout. all the food is cooked to order in house and has exquisite attention to detail, the wait staff is friendly and will chit chat for a little while if they arent to slammed.
