Food is really good, but I have to give it 3 stars for the slow, inattentive service. Â We ordered 7 different plates with the fish tostadas ranking number one followed by the surprising chicken and waffles (the gravy was amazing!). Â We ordered the Kobe beef sliders medium and they came out medium rare. Â We sent them back and they came out well done. Â Unfortunate because there was a lot of potential there. Â We ordered the famous stuffed mushrooms.... While tasty, 2 stuffed mushrooms for 8 dollars is hardly worth it. Â Lobster Mac and cheese was definitely a nice surprise.... I have a hard time ruining seafood with cheese, but I think they do a fairly decent job.... A little salt and pepper made it even better! Â Coconut shrimp was good but the dipping sauce made it a great dish. Â The coconut batter could use some work, perhaps a little seasoning so the dish is not so dependent on the sauce. Â Last and unfortunately least was the scallops and basmati rice dish....blah! Â The scallops were over cooked and dry and the rice was drowned in truffle oil.... Very disappointing to say the least. Â Some definite great dishes here, but I would come between 4:30-6:00 to try their dishes at half price (except lobster dishes) that way you are not disappointed if the dishes do not meet your expectations. Â Cheers!
Review Source:There's nothing more I love than appetizers and dessert, so Embargo was the place for me. We got a good variety, including the lobster mac & cheese, lobster quahog, fish tacos, pulled pork carnitas tacos and oysters on the half shell. Their drinks were good, although my husband's first mojito was VERY sweet. Our waiter was very nice, if not a bit nervous/timid it seemed. They had live jazz which made it hard to hear, but even without the music it's a pretty loud place.
Make reservations as it was PACKED at 8pm on Saturday. We didn't have one thing we didn't enjoy and I'd make a trip here again.
