Emerald Tavern

Good tavern food, great service. Inexpensive. Particularly good french dip, particularly good ho-made fries.

Even though I'll give points to the quality of the drinks and the general atmosphere, walking in the place looked a little sketch. It seemed like we were on some random street corner. It was dark and there was construction fencing blocking the street access.

The DJ was doing pretty good for the seemingly older crowd. Everyone was up and dancing on the very small floor.

We didn't have food, so no comments there.

We went on a pub crawl, kind of, and this was easily the funnest place we stopped.  

Everyone in here was older (ranging from 25-70).  Down to earth and just enjoyed having fun.  There was a DJ who played a good mix of music, everything from rock to oldies to top 40's.  A bunch of people were up and dancing on the small bar dance floor.  

Drinks were good and strong.  We didn't get anything to eat here, so I can't vouch for their food.  This is definitely a great place to drink with friends and have a good time without having to deal with annoying drunk young people.  Do I sound old and surly yet?
