Great!

As the only fish and tackle shop in the area that i know of it can but does not take advantage of the customers.

A great selection of items and very comfy. I am glad this is walking distance between june and gull lake for our yearly college trip.

The nicest and most knowledgeable shop in the Eastern Sierras. Â They are nothing but quality. Â From rods and reels to skiing equipment, this is the place to go. Â Way better rates on rentals than up on June Mountain.

It seems every year we make the drive from San Francisco Bay area, check into our lodging at June Lake Loop, and the first thing we do the next morning is make our trek to Ernie's...

1) Need Fishing License
2) Need trout bait
3) Need new fishing line (always get snags)
4) Check out any new cool fishing equipment

Find out about the latest fishing report....
Depart - go fishing.....and hopefully catch some trout.

Ernies is the go to place ....for your fishing goods during trout catching seasoni.
its right in the middle of town - close to Tiger Bar which is a good place for breakfast.

In the ski season, they sell and rent snow related items.

You know, it's kind of an iconic place but the last time we went there for tackle, the people working there were somewhat grumpy and not terribly helpful.

We rarely find any great finds in here, but the staff is always super friendly. They'll Â chat you up, remind you of times when June had some crazy ass snowstorms, and just entertain you for the five minutes you spend in their store.

Ernie's is the only place we would think of renting gear when we go to June Mountain. They run an amazing shop with minimal staff and a lot of heart. Just like the fireplace in the middle of the store, these folks create a lot of warmth that is the perfect way to start and end a weekend at June Lake.
