Original Post (12/27/2012): Nothing really outstanding here. If it was not in Mammoth, I would say it was Applebees.

I would of rather of had a granola bar and a flask of whiskey.

    ----------------------------

The owner wanted me to elaborate on my "vague" review questioning it. For that reason I have decided to take away a star from my original 2-star review. Definately a better and more constructive way to improve the restaurant than questioning my opinion.

    Owners Reponse:
Not sure what to even say about such a vague review. Applebees, really? What did you order?

(From what I can remember, I ordered stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer which was horrible, soaked and wet. Like it was microwaved. I cant remember my entree, or what my wife ordered at least I was able to forget it).

Guess you should have tried our amazing granola.

(If this is the case, perhaps you should skim down your menu and remove the items that are not good, and keep the ones you want people to order)

We bake it fresh daily and serve it for free in our continental breakfast! That and a shot of McCallum 12 year would be hard to beat!

(I actually had your glenfiddich 12 yr I believe, which was the only hope your restaurant had. Considering this, it was expensive, and I could have purchased a bottle from the store that would have been more economical and enjoyable).

Our family of four loved this place. The food is excellent, for adults and also for kids. The ahi tuna was awesome, though you might not order such a thing in a place so far from the sea. Not only was it perfectly (un)cooked, the sesame sauce was perfectly balanced, with broccoli, carrots, and green beans just tender enough.  We had the beef carpaccio starter, conversation-stopping delicious. The white chocolate cheesecake dessert was the best I've had, though I'm not normally a cheesecake fan.  The kids meals are actual meals.  Our first time here we had the sausage plate, which was solid but not stellar like the tuna.  Our waitress seemed to be handling most of the room, and she was a real pro, knowing exactly when to bring the courses, and when and when not to show up.  The atmosphere is Austrian, kind of loud as others have noted, with a raucous happy hour.  You have to be okay with loud ambience and sort of a dark stale heavily-wooded decor.  What can I say, we tried Z-bar Ranch (local burger hot spot) and Toomeys, they were both good, less expensive, and much higher Yelp rating, but in my opinion neither is in the same league as Austria Hof.  We'll be back.  For success on its own terms it gets 5 stars from me.

We came to check out the happy hour here after a friend told us to check in yelp for the rolling rock deal. We each got a free 12 ounce rolling rock beer. Rose the waitress recommended the chicken wings which were actually really tasty. We also got the delicious sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. The generous portions were served on large plates. With all this good food and drinks we ended up ordering more rounds of drinks and had a real good time at this popular and packed happy hour!
