Went here late one night and tried the green chile wontons. they were tasty and crunchy. I loved it. and I had some regular tex mex chili . it hit the spot. Â waiter was really nice! great service! Â they played some dub step for the music if you're into that you would like it but it was at a comfortable volume I didn't even notice. they had a good drink selection tho I didn't try any. Â I would be back to try their other food. I want to try their green chile stew! the bowl my friend got looked really good!
Review Source:When I lived in the LC, I never really went to Farley's for the food...it was usually only for the drinks!
However, this last visit I was there twice. Once for lunch and once for dinner.
First off: Â Lunch with the girls
I had the Green Enchilada Soup. Â Savory and filling. Â Big chunks of chicken and that ever yummy green chile. Â The broth was a little darker than I had expected but it was very well seasoned. Â We also got some chips and salsa, chips and queso, and Green Chile Won-Tons. Â All of the above were very flavorful and hit the spot for lunch. Â Along with the good company this visit was a success!
Second Visit: Dinner with the fam
Wings. All I have to say is yummy. Â The sauce is a bit spicy which is fine with me and very buffalo-ey. Â The wings themselves are good sized and not hidden by a bunch of breading or anything at all.
I had the grown up grilled cheese. Â Super cheesy, melty, toasty and gooey goodness! Â
Looking forward to trying some other stuff next time I'm in town!
Wow! I have to give this place 2 stars. The service was awful - we waited at least 15 min just to get our order taken (no exaggeration) and when the food did come it too tasted pretty bad. The bathrooms were were also really gross. And its not like the price makes up for these things cause it wasn't exactly a cheap meal. Overall we don't plan on going back!
Review Source:This place is just not what it used to be. I had my first date with my hubs here but now rarely go back. When I do is is plagued by average food and slow service. The crowd seems to have gotten pretty rowdy too. Want to love this place but it just ain't what it used to be. Ok for drinks and bar food. Definitely a cool decor. There's a lot of new competition in town too and they don't seem to have kept pace with that.
Review Source:Nice waiter, bad food. We started out with queso, salsa and chips and the flavors were great but the queso was not hot. We ordered the fajitas and they came out sizzling but the chicken had no flavor and was very dry like rubber. Even the sauté veggies were bland. The chicken enchilada soup had great authentic taste but the chicken again was dry and rubbery. Kinda reminded me of tofu! For a sports bar what can you expect on the food... Right! But there were not even any big screens???
Review Source:A good location and had good bar food.
You really couldn't go wrong with anything you got on the menu. Â
I had $3 draft Shocktop and it was a Monday so they had 25 cent wings. Â Got a dozen of those... should of just gotten 8 but it was cheap. Â It was just a typical buffalo wing. Â Had a good hotness I liked. Â Had the kicks and it wasn't spicy where I had to get some water. Â My friends got the Fajita taco salad, Chicken strips, and Classic Pizza. Â The Fajita taco salad came in a huge taco bowl. Â The Chicken strips came with fries and couple toasts, which I thought was interesting. Â The Classic Pizza was kind of disappointing. Â It was like 12" pizza good size for one person but the topping were not great. Â I mean when you hear classic you think it would have at least some pepperoni on it right? Â Well it didn't have it. Â It came with sausage, green pepper, black olives... and that's all I remember.
Overall, its a great place to go for bar food, had decent amount of TVs around to watch some sports and just had a good vibe. Â Oh and a lot of selection of beers on draft (over 20).
Perfect bar food! We visited Las Cruces on Day 5 of a business-related trip where every night we had these expensive fancy dinners. By day 5 I was beyond ready for Farley's. Very casual atmosphere, good beer, and an easy bar-type food menu. My grilled cheese with fries and a pickle was exactly what I needed! I'm a grilled cheese snob, and the grilled cheese wasn't the soggy kind that you can get at many casual restaurants. It was nice and crunchy and buttery on the outside and cheesy goodness on the inside. I wish I had one of these restaurants in Houston.
We were with a large group, so it took a little bit to order and get food and drinks, but it was worth it!! And everyone's order was correct and everyone else seemed to enjoy their food. The staff was friendly. One of our trip mates had a birthday, and let's just say that I love when a restaurant gets the birthday victim involved in the birthday song. It was hilarious!! I would definitely come here again and would definitely recommend it to a friend.
Everyone loves some bar food every once and a while. Â You know what I'm talking about... a good slider, some hot wings, chili cheese fries, etc. Â Even those of us who don't imbibe very often get that craving for some of these bad-for-you favorites. Â Well when you are in the mood for this kind of food in Las Cruces, don't be seduced by Hooters and instead steer yourself to Farley's. Â You'll save a bit of money, and get better food in the bargain.
Service: Â 4/5
My experiences with service at Farley's have pretty much run a bit above average. Â Most of the servers are very friendly, and service itself is prompt. Â They are really good about refills and do a good job of keeping up with you without giving you that "hovering over your shoulder" feeling. Â The seating is "seat yourself," just FYI though. Â There is no hostess or anyone up front to seat you. Â So don't think you're being ignored when you walk in the door and don't see anybody.
Food: Â 4/5
The food here is solid all the way around. Â As I said in the opening, this is bar food. Â But it is bar food done right for the most part. Â The menu is basic, but varied. Â You'll find a good assortment of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, and a few entrees. Â I'm a big fan of their burgers myself. Â They are always thick, juicy, and cooked to order. Â At the same time, I am not a big wing fan so I can't really say if those are any good or not. Â So if wings are your thing, I can't help you there. Â But everything I have had off their menu has been good.
Overall Impressions: Â 4/5
I really like the interior look of Farley's. Â It looks fun, it looks comfortable, and it is busy without being overly loud, if you get my meaning. Â People are having a good time, it looks like a fun place to be, yet at the same time you don't feel bombarded by noise and commotion. Â So I think they strike a good balance in that regard. Â Farley's is also a good value. Â The food is fairly priced for what you are getting, unlike at the Hooters up the road where you are paying for a name, and to gawk at the servers. Â And really... why pay money for that? Â Just pick a bench along the main walkways at NMSU once school starts and enjoy the view for free.
Good for the college crowd. About 22 different beers on tap. If you're looking for a steak don't expect much, head to their parent company down the street (Cattle Baron) or somewhere else because they do better on burgers and pizza. They do have some pasta and chicken dishes but I normally stick with my Buffalo Chicken sandwich. The beef fajitas are good also and I normally take some home.
As far as the service goes I've never had a problem. The service here is much better and far more attentive than other places around town.
Now they are doing college night every Wednesday (as advertised on their Facebook page) and they also have a lot of Steeler's fans during football season. Can we get some other teams to go in and create some rivalry? They're open late (usually until around 1a.m.) Good stuff.
Farley's isn't really worth writing home about. Every time I have been, the service has either been so bad or slow that my party and I would get up and leave after about 20 minutes of waiting to get our drink orders taken. Â The food was ok. Â We usually had to send it back because it was either undercooked or overcooked.
Review Source:They are a bar. There are peanut shells on the floor. There are a million TVs. The place is often loud. They have a few pool tables and arcade games.
But the food is really good. The green chili wontons are amazing. The Turkey Jack is one of my favorite sandwiches on the planet. Their salads are fresh. They have some unique dishes with a Southwestern flair.
This place is owned by the same folks as Cattle Baron, but with a completely different approach. I might think they flopped at "high-end steakhouse" with Cattle Baron, but awesome restaurant/bar/fun center workd out well for them.
It's a great place for families (before 10), large groups, or just a casual lunch. Their happy hour is a must. They break out some of their awesome appetizers served gratis as well as drink specials.
It's okay, but listen..... do you really need that much salt on your chips? Salt, salt, salt, is about all I will remember on this trip. Â Will try again, because after moving here from Seattle, my hubby and I are trying like heck to find a somewhat decent restaurant to chill and have a good meal at. Â We will be back.
Review Source:A great looking building, fun decorations, and nice location do not make up for the food at Farley's. Â I have a number of friends that have disagreed with me, but I find their food bland and boring. Â Also, I am a person with an iron constitution, but their food has twice made me feel ill. Â Perhaps it is an additive they use, maybe just bad luck, but I cannot seem to find food here that agrees with me. Â
Also, for being one of the marque "sports bars" in town, the availability of football/basketball/hockey/baseball games during the seasons is seriously lacking. Â Every time I eat at Farley's, I feel like the owners are missing a great opportunity by not catering more to sports lovers. Â For those that do not know, Las Cruces has VERY FEW places to watch sports that are not carried by the big networks. Â That being said, I do enjoy Farley's as a bar and have had some great evenings with friends over a pitcher or two.
Great service! Fun, festive decorations...video game and pool table area...large bar area...a great place for happy hour.
They serve large, over-sized portions. I got a side order of salad and soup and the salad alone was enough to get me full. The fish and chips were pretty good.
We ordered a kid's pizza....10 inches on a thin crust with cheese and sausage for only $4.99 plus $0.50 per additional topping...what a deal!
We'll be back...
