Quaint and quiet. Great place to go with friends or on a date. Can never go wrong with the food. Beer selection is awesome. Will definitely be returning.

Out of all the Fat Belly's locations, this one is definitely my favorite. It's decent food, nothing really over the top and typical bar fare. The burgers are pretty good, and it is a smaller menu. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but if I go here I do get beer. They definitely have a good selection of beers on tap.

Harp on tap! enough said, I am not much of a beer fan but I do love a cold Harp from the tap! I also love the cheese fries! Fries, bacon, cheese, chives, drizzled w ranch. Yum! The cheese is real cheese no fake stuff here. Try em and if the ranch throws you off order them without the ranch. The staff friendly and good. Went on a trivia night once and had so much fun. I've seen families and college kids here. Plenty of t.v's all over to watch the game.

Have been here many times, and it's an enjoyable place.

    The Pros:
*The menu is a little small, but the food is consistently good.
Most recently I had the Fat Belly Burger...nice and satisfying for when you are craving just a basic burger. Other favorites include the Swiss Chicken Panini (which comes with maple honey mustard, swiss cheese, and bacon), and the Rueben (which generally comes heaped with corned beef). The sandwiches come with fries or salad with no extra charge (I do wish the salad side was a little bigger though); sweet potato fries, truffle fries, ect.. are $1 more.

*Portions are just the right size for the price, you get plenty of food without feeling overstuffed.

*Small but decent beer selection, often with specials.

    The Cons:
*I really have only one...it is so so so loud in there some nights!!! The tables are kind of big, the space is kind of small, and with the poor acoustics it can be really hard to hear what the people you are with are saying.
*Okay, so two cons...I hate how their high-top tables mostly use pub stools with no backs.

To solve both of these problems...try to sit at the bar if there are only two of you!

Overall, good food, good prices...will definitely keep going back.

I have been in here a few times.
Depending on who is working goes the  services.

They have some true meat heads behind the bar who could give a f%&k if you were there or not, and then there is 1 really super nice guy.  I wanna say his name is Jared, Justin....yeah something with a J.

So went in on Friday for a quick afternoon brew & snack. I had the chicken Florentine sandwich with side salad.  Totally average sandwich nothing spectacular, but not bad either. The one thing I did not appreciate was freezing cold spinach on a hot sandwich.  I am thinking they pulled it right out of the can & threw it on there.  My counterpart had calamari  which is always outstanding.   I am sure I will be back, we do like going to visit the nice guy!

This place is not your best choice in and around Wakefield.
Is it trying for an older crowd?  Younger crowd?  Sports Crowd?  Dinner Crowd?
    Who knows.
Meanwhile, the Caprese Panini will give you an enduring stomach ache for hours should you brave eating it.  The burgers are OK, but don't taste like fresh ground beef.  Haven't tried any other food.   The menu selection is lame, half italian, half burgers, nothing interesting.
It's okay for a cheap domestic pint (US pint that is), but you can spend $6 for a glass of beer here too.  Paying $6 for a skunked Ten Penney Ale was the straw that broke the camel's back for me.  I haven't been back since.  You should save yourself the trouble.

Came here with my boyfriend on a summer trip to Narragansett. We loved the Irish pub atmosphere (plenty of TVs playing all of the local sports games) and the food was really great. We had the buffalo wings as an appetizer and although they weren't the spiciest we've ever had, they were still enjoyable. The burger was great and the steak sandwich was awesome as well. The waitresses were nice and helpful. We would definitely come back here on a return trip.

I started going to Fat Bellies with their location on Main Street in East Greenwich.  It was great.  They have since opened several new locations, one in Wakefield, and it has just gone down hill.  The service is ok and they need a better and larger menu.  They don't offer Turkey burgers.  They used to offer this Smashed potato pizza and have since stopped.  Their menu is just boring.  Their specials are odd at times. Their focus needs to get back to making the locations they have better vs. opening up new locations.

We were surprised by how much we liked the food here. We went with the intention to get some Irish beer, but also had a good lunch. We had the Caprese Panini and the Swiss Chicken Panini. My husband and I both agreed that the Caprese was the best.

My kids had the grilled cheese.. which was gourmet-delicious. Really good. I would have been happy with that as my meal.

I also noticed some good looking salads at other tables. A few days later we got take-out and I tried the "Murphy Salad". It was really good.............but note to self: the portion is MUCH smaller when getting take-out vs. the dine-in salad that I saw. So, next time I will just get the salad when I'm there.

My GF and I hopped in here after our miserable meal at the Mews and grabbed a couple of beers.. Bar is very small in a cozy kind of way, I liked this place.  Again, we just had beers, bartender was quick and personable.  Good place to hang out, catch a game with friends and have some fun.  I can't comment on any of the food, however, what I saw of it looked hot and smelled awfully good.

I would say give it a shot..

Went to Fat Bellys Pub the other night. Thought it was time to stop in since i keep driving by them all over. Staff was fairly friendly. The bartender was a tad bit arrogant and full of himself but my waitress seemed ok. I ordered a burger which was really good. I ordered it medium but it came out medium well. I have to say not just there but almost anywhere i go i just can"t seem to get a medium burger. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. I wouldn't come running back to place but i definitely wouldn't call it a bad experience. It just lacks a little warmth to the guest but definitely not snooty. I might check out Coventry next!

It's been a year and a half since I first reviewed the Belly, and I'm still a fan. Trivia on Wednesdays is great. The service here is always friendly and on-point. They have a very good selection of beers, tons of TVs and while the menu is small I've liked everything I've tried here. This is pub food, good, simple, and consistent.

I come here often enough and haven't been disappointed.

As posted on another review site...they are an Irish Pub but don't know what an Imperial Pint is and most of the food is run of the mill Italian.  Prior to this, MidTown Cafe was a true Irish Pub with Irish fare.  The burgers are good and so was the Eggplant Napolean.  Where are the bangers & mash?  I'd like to see them re-do the menu to live up to their name.
We haven't ordered there since the summer when I ordered clam chowder and I swear that it was cream of mushroom soup..

Stopped in for lunch. Very friendly, knowledgeable server. Typical pub food items on the menu, but also a nice selection of pannini. Seasonal beers--lots of choices on tap.

Pub?  Bartender didn't know how to make a Manhattan and then didn't have bitters at the bar anyhow.  The martini replacement was dismal...a glass of vodka.  The Irish coffee was pretty good but the waitress was awfully careless and 'spillful'.  I've had good food here, but 2 of 3 times now a bummer of a disappointment.  It is crowded often however....so somebody must like the beer.  I imagine it's good for beer and watching a game.  But skip the dinner and specialty drinks.  Once they couldn't even manage to make the Mojito on the menu.  Huh?  I agree with Kate J (the other reviewer)...DOWN HILL AT LIGHT SPEED!!!  Sad but true.  You'd think they'd read a couple of these reviews and crack the whip.  The staff just doesn't seem to care about service or the customer's experience.  This can be damning when bringing folks from out of town.

I really like Fat Belly's. My friends want to go to a bar down the street but I try and steer them towards here instead.
All the food I've had here has been excellent. Prepared, cooked, and served in a timely manner. I've had good waitstaff every time I've went, quick with the drinks, timely with the orders and not in a rush.
They have these interesting truffle fries(the fungus truffle not the chocolate truffle) I'm not big on mushrooms but my friend who orded them enjoyed them a LOT! They cook calamari to perfection, no rubber erasers here. When I asked for my burger cooked medium rare it was a dark pink in the middle and juicey(perfect). The waitress kept refilling my cup, I didn't have to flag her down or ask once. They were quick with the check when I asked for it.

This pub has gone DOWN hill at 65 MPH.  There is a bartender/possible manager there that is an arrogant, ungracious and rude.  (The kitchen messed up our order, he said it was my husband's fault and then charged us for the actual item we ordered and was NO where to be found after we got the bill).  As I mentioned, they have gluten free pizza shells which makes it an easy place for us to go to........4 out of the last five (over two months) my pizza was inedible and my husbands food has been widely undercooked.

    I am OVER this pub.

The name fits here at Fatg Bellys and I am sure anyone who has ever eaten here would say the same! The portions are heaping! We tried the nacho's Ooo La La. The burgers are classic (American) Bar style, Thick Juicy hamburgers, grilled just the way you like em' and topped with almost anything that you could think of. Prices are reasonable.

The bar is totally cramped and the wait at this particular location can be out of control. They do have a downtown location and they are in the works with one in the Warwick mall plaza.

    Check em' out they're great.

Came here on a cold Friday night.  The place was packed.  We managed to snag a couple of seats at the bar.  The bartender did a great job making sure that we were taken care of.  Good beer selection (ok, not as good as the Mews, but the food was so much better.) had a really first rate sliced steak sandwich and my friend had a really good cheeseburger.  Nice warm pub atmosphere.  I would definitely go back.

Can't compete with the Mews on beer selection, but the food is better here. Get the blackened chicken salad or the burger. good stuff and a block from my house.

But about the beer...wish they'd ditch some of existing on-tap options and replace with some decent pale ales and IPAs. (this is where the Mews wins).

Also a good place to watch the game with lots of big TVs.
I like the dark wood decor. It feels cozy, and this place is clearly going to be around awhile. Unlike the last 3 or 4 places that occupied this spot since I moved to town. It's a welcome addition to the neighborhood IMO.

I was excited to see Fat Belly's opening in Wakefield because I'm a big fan of the bars down there, so maybe 2 nights after the opening my boyfriend and i went in...and walked right back out. Gorgeous interior but a weird setup with hightop tables sprinkled randomly throughout, making it awkward to try and stand to drink. Also, the clientele seems more of the older crowd (but URI isn't in session yet, this could change).
We tried today for lunch because I had heard about their paninis, and it wasnt half bad. I tried the italian, w/o onions, and she gave it to me without banana peppers as well. It was delicious but kind of strange because the ham on it was super sweet. My bf asked for sweet potato fries and got regular, but they were great as well. The bartender was sweet but busy and the mimosa was good, she even gave us a sidecar of OJ and a little bottle of champagne!
I might try the nightlife here again when a younger crowd moves in, but the food was pretty good and reheated well.

Place is small.  Expect to wait or sit at bar with friendly barstaff.  Tough to get onstreet parking so park in back.  Food's good and reasonably priced.  Good draught beer selection.  My wife is vegan but she did have several options to eat.  Unfortunately they topped her pasta with cheese which the menu didn't mention.

Great food. Great looking place. A little small though. We had no problem getting a seat at 2pm on a Friday, but at busier times it might be tough. 15 tables and 13 seats at the bar. I had the Dutch Belly sandwich. BLT on panini bread with egg and cheese. Delicious.

I went to check this place out finally- I really liked it! I'm only giving 3 stars because I didn't eat, but I have to say it smelled delicious! (and will re-rate as soon as I eat there)
The big issue with this spot was liquor licenses and the church across the street- no restaurant thrived here. I think that with Fat Belly's full liquor license and a desperate need for a good old neighborhood pub will ensure it's long term success. Best of luck to these guys!
The very sweet and talented bartender made me a mojito with BASIL simple syrup. Ummmmm.... HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH!
I can't wait to go back and hopefully get an amazing french dip.

Only complaint is it is WAY too LOUD in there- even sitting thisclose to someone you can't hold a conversation well- I don't think it was the tv or the people as much as maybe not having some sort of absorber? Everything just ricocheted and amplified it seemed.
oh and for non-locals, maybe some signs pointing to the rest rooms because it does look like you aren't supposed to go down there!

Fun atmosphere but a bit too dark inside but then again it's going for that old Irish Pub look.  Food was ok but not amazing - I guess if your drunk and hungry it'll do.  Will go back and try several other items to see how other things taste.  The Pizza and Burgers looked good - my Steak and Cheese was a bit too oily.

Looks like a general BMW Yuppy crowd if that's your thing...good first impression.

We went to the newly opened Fat Belly's this past Sunday night to check it out, watch the Sox-Yankees game, grab a bite to eat, and have a couple of brews.

We loved the beer on tap selection, which is quite large.  We had the Dogfish Head and the Blue Moon, which we were  pleasantly surprised to see they had amongst their beer selections.  Split an order of buffalo wings which were quite tasty, and had the reuben and the Fat Belly Burger (your basic burger).  Both sandwiches were delish. The Fat Belly Burger was cooked exactly to how I ordered it (medium) and was juicy, fries were pretty tasty too.  My only complaint (and this is so minor) is that the cheese on my burger was shredded cheese rather than a slice.

Service was quick and prompt, and no matter where you sit, you will be able to see one of the many TV's, a must if you are there to watch a game.  Looks like the Mews is going to have some competition!

Glad to see another fat belly's open in the area.  I've been twice and agree with previous review...a bit crowded but otherwise great.  By all means try the Pesto Pizza and the Burger.  Both are outstanding.  Wings can be ordered as 8, 12, 20 which is a plus for a small group or a crowd.  My only compliant is that its very very loud.  Perhaps it's the high ceiling or the TV's interferring with piped in music.  Wish it was a bit less noisy as conversation is sometimes not possible.  Also...when it's crowded there is no place to stand and wait for a table excpet outside (fine in the summer--not so fine come winter).  Beer selection pretty good--i'd like to see a few more imports or Belgium beers though.  I agree--don't become like other establishments and lose yourself fat belly's--keep it small and the menu also nicely sized.  TOo big menus is usually when the food starts to go downhill.

This place is EXACTLY what Main St needed! It just opened 4th of July Weekend, and its super cute. All dark wood, a nice bar, great lighting, a good selection of tap beers, and 7 plasma screens line the top of the room.

Our Server was named Jackie, and she was super sweet. She checked on us pretty much every 10 min, which was perfect, 'cause we were in there to get our drink on!

This place will do great with the locals, and its going to be great competition for the Mews down the street. The URI kids are going to eat this place up. Hopefully, they dont drive out the locals though.

I wish more bars would have websites though. Its hard for me to pass on this awesome place, with out a phone number or a link to the menu. When I get it, I will post it.

(NOTE: The door to get in, is to the left of the actual bar. It looks like you are going into an apt building or something. Thats where the bathrooms are too. )
