Do I really need to say more?

I love Fibber's.  I have been going here for years and I was probably one of the most excited when it re-became Fibber's (for a short time it became Shadow Bar, which was laughable).  Although Fibber's is not as popular as it once was it still has a lot going for it.  its an ideal place to bring a bunch of friends and bring the party with you.  Very laid back, kind of dark, dingy, irish bar with the best beer specials in town-you can always get a cheap drink including the weekend.  Friday night recently changed from 1 dollar domestic draft (miller/coors/bud/pbr) to 2 dollar any draft (Siera Nevada, Guinness, Newcastle, etc).  Wednesdays deal is 5 bucks and you can drink free Miller Lite all night.  That doesn't work out for me these days but I can't for the life of me understand why there isn't a line of college kids waiting to get in when they open.  Also they have pretty decent food (I like the grilled chick club) and great food specials.  Monday is dollar tacos and Thursday is any burger, fries and a domestic draft BEER for 5 bucks.  Now beat that.  You can't.  Sunday is still half price bottle of wine night I think (ah the memories).  Check them out on twitter for up to date specials. <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2Ffibberspubhouse&s=0b6f7256d8b1d14e5c0ba87cc5474591e80f25d376fa36771b09722d553a9515" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://twitter.com/fibbe…</a>

Don't get me wrong - there is nothing mind-blowing about Fibber's. What earns this place it's four stars is the little pieces that add up to make a great, laid-back, no-frills, all-fun night.

For starters, I always dig a bar that gives you something to do. So when we showed up early-ish on a Friday evening and, in addition to darts and pool (I love you Blue Post, but now you're so far away and sometimes a girl's gotta throw darts), live trivia was in full swing. The crowd was high spirited and friendly and the domestic drafts were flowing for $1. ONE DOLLAR. ON A FRIDAY NIGHT! (Have I mentioned I was just unemployed for three weeks? Afraid I've become a bit of a specials whore...) The jukebox is expansive, so depending on who's in control, the music can vary widely. In general, though, it kept us happy most of the night.

It started snowing shortly after trivia ended (our team got second place which gets you a $20 Fibber's gift certificate - which we promptly spent) and a good portion of the crowd ended up together on the patio, standing and smiling like kids while snowflakes stuck to our hair and clothes. Not a bad first impression.
