We decided to finally try this place. Â We have a place in West Branch so it's only 10 min away. Â We had beer which was good and cold but we were really impressed with our dinners. Â I had the Catfish dinner and my husband had the the fisherman's platter. Â We highly recommend the catfish dinner. Â It was cooked perfect and the vegetable of the day was asparagus (one of my favorites). Â They gave me about 7-8 big pieces. Â Really enjoyed ourselves. Waitress was good and very friendly.
Review Source:I understand people that drop out of high school need a place to work but does it have to be a restaurant? Â Good god man they could even make two burgers correctly! WTF! Â Next time I stop in there I'm taking a dump on the floor and leaving. Â At least then I will feel like I got my money's worth.
Review Source:Wow! Reviews are all over the place for the Firehouse. That kinda sums it up too. I have a place in St.Helen so vistit the Firehouse often and write an unbias review! We go for dinner sometimes and sometimes just for the drinks. Dinner can be hit or miss. The server quality food but not always prepared properly. With that said I have had some really good meals at Firehouse and to be honest there are no other restaurants in the area that serve anything better, maybe cheaper but not better. Dinners are a littly pricey but that is probably because it is the nicest restaurnt in the area. You can get everything from prime rib to grilled cheese. They often have specials for around $10 a meal. Bar selection is good and most bartenders will poor you a good drink. Friday they usually have karoke and Saturdays a DJ. The crowd is mixed in here but after midnight mostly 20s and 30s. They building and decorations are a huge plus. There is an old firetruck in the parking lot and the inside was well thought out when built (or should I say remolded). The entire bar has the fire fighter theme and did they did a good job. Plenty to keep your eyes busy if they are swamped and food takes a few extra minutes. They have a decent jukebox, pool table, large jenga on the dance floor, and an outdoor patio. Summary: decent food, decent drinks, nice atmosphere, and in the area you have limited options. I belive owners also own the Limber Lost in Houghton lake. Give it a try and see what ya think!
Review Source:Bad food. Awful service. Very expensive for what you get. Â 2 adults and 1 six year old cost $53.00 to eat. My wife ordered ribs, which were very dry and tough. I ordered steak and shrimp, the steak was more fat than meat and the shrimp were not even peeled. My son ordered a cheeseburger, which turned out to be worse than what the school cafeteria would serve. They didn't even put cheese on it. Our waiter started out ok, but took over 10 minutes to refill my pop after taking the glass. He also through had an attitude when we asked for cheese on my son's cheeseburger. I would highly recommend taking your money elsewhere.
Review Source:Located literally just a couple minutes north of I-75 If you are traveling through the area, this is as good as it gets for 60 miles. Â We know as we have a cabin nearby (12 miles away)
Been there five or more times over the years with no complaints from me, my wife or anyone we've brought with us. Â The last time I had the perch dinner and they were excellent, lightly breaded and fried just right. Â The side order of fries was hot and crispy. Â Time before that it was the chicken and fettuccini pasta - very good.
A unique atmosphere, sports bar that includes firefighting memorabilia inside and on the outside you can't miss the old fire truck parked near the road.
