I stopped going here about 5 years ago.  We would go for breakfast, but the waitresses were grumpy, and the food was okay, and we forgot about it.  Last Sunday we decided to try it again.  Heck it was raining and we went for a drive.

The place looked a lot cleaner than I remembered.  The place was buzzing with people and conversation and there was country rock music coming outta the speakers, but not loud enough to be annoying.

There is only about 5 different things you can order for breakfast, but that's all you need.  The food was great.  Coffee was great and hot and kept coming without me searching for a waitress to ask.  The waitress Dayna was friendly and was there just enough to check on us.

The biscuits and gravy were amazing and just right.  Eggs cooked like I asked over medium.  My husband said the omelet was better than the Omelet Factory.  The french toast came with large round sausages that were great.

First off no one from west of Lake Jennings should be allowed to rate the Flinn.  PB/Downtown it is not and that is what makes it so cool!  I love burgers and other than Hodads, these are some of the best around!  Best Tator Tots around, in fact we have never been disapointed by the food.  Tap beer selection could be improved with some good locals but they have Amber Bock which is good and really cold!  It has awesome horse shoe pits, pool table, table tennis, juke box, cold beer and great food at a great price!

You really cannot beat the burgers here. There entire menu is delicious. I have yet to be disappointed. They have specials everyday and the prices are crazy low! Go for burgers after work or during the game or the flinn scramble for a hangover breakfast. Yummy Yummy Yummy!!

I hope I never have to go here again! I know.. it's an East County dive bar.. But ugh... too much smoke, too many flys outside and just too far east for me..

Oh lord, not even sure where to begin. I went here at the end of a girls night because I had heard nothing but wonderful things from a certain someone, so here it goes.
    Yes,
    It's a dive
It's is in the middle of the woods
    It's in EC
    It's very laid back
They have beer pong and dancing and pool.
    Need I really say more.
Go with an open mind and ready to have a good time, you won't be disappointed.

I have been here several times over the last 5 years I use to love the chili so much I would recommend it to bikers looking for a place to ride on a weekend day. I mean this was....was damn good chili. Sunday, it sucked. We went for a drive from Poway through Julian. Our option was to go north, back through Lake Henshaw in to Valley Center and to Ivor's, or out to Flinn Springs for chili. We chose the latter. The server was obviously inconvenienced by our presence. The chili, barely warm enough to melt the cheese, was over loaded with beans. Remember where's the beef? This is ground beef chili...not chili beans! We ordered chili with cheese and onions....I've had more onions on a McDonald's hamburger...seriously! Really, really bummed out....now where to go for Chili?

Still a dive, still looks like they hire former "ladies of the rodeo" for servers, still have the nastiest bathrooms ever BUT after a long day work, one of their killer mushroom burgs w/tater tots totally rocks!

Go for the laidback energy, LOUD country music on the juke and killer burgs and cold beer. Pay in cash and all will be well.

Love Hate Affair with this bar... it was the 1st bar I ever drank in illegally when I was 19 in East County. It was very very different than, You could grill your own steaks out in the back patio, family karaoke nights on Sundays..thats when I loved it !!

It then went to Bro and Ho Central 99!! My girl used to be the weekend KJ (Karaoke Jockey) and it turned into EC's own mini version of Tijuana for many years. This is when I hated it, wouldnt go there for it would turn into a drunken high school reunion and it would end badly.

Its safe to say the place has changed  a great deal over the last 5 years!!

Maybe they got new owners? New cooks? Who knows, but whatever theyre doin, keep doin it!

We just went back for the Grand Opening Release of my cousins clothing line. The place well it still looks the same on the inside, dark and woody ... Out back there was more tables for dinning, a Beer Pong table, a horse shoe pit, where some serious horse shoe playin was goin down .. we EC folks know how to have a good time with Horse Shoes.. Their was alive band, a Reggae band no less.. the atmosphere was pretty awesome, including live art being done by SD's local artist Sean Dietrich, who is really and truly gifted! The scene was pretty legit in my opinion!

So we had a few drinks, and then grabbed some lunch inside. We sat at a high table near the bar, and from the get go the service was WEAKSAUCE!! It took the waitress, who really only had 2 other tables well into their meals, and us, 15 mins to even greet us  walk up to us acknowledge us.. So we ordered, the appetizers came out and it was delicious! Pretty good Spinach Artichoke dip for sure!! The rest of our meals came out sporadically, My moms who orders everything well well well burnt and done, her burger came out before mine? She said hers was perfect, mine took another15 minutes.. OK? When it came out it was all wrong too :( , but I didnt wanna wait another 15 mins , so I scraped off the yuckiness and ate it .

We wanted a few more cocktails, but didnt want to wait for this waitress who was to busy doing everything under the sun but do her job, so I kept goin to the bar outside and buying drinks, all for this chik to try and charge us again for what was purchased outside... Moms wasn't haven that.. so before paying the bill and getting it squirted away, she calmly and nicely explained to the girl what was wrong, and all she got back was oh my bad and an attitude for days.. another 20 mins went by and still no new check. Moms was irritated at this point and went up to the bartender to have our check settled and dealt with. Needless to say homegirl didnt get a tip of money, but instead she got a nice note from my mother explaining why she didnt get her tip ! Gotta love my mother!

So Im back to not liking the joint so much and well, needless to say The Food was MEH- it wasnt a great burger but it was good. The Service was Crap!  And the only reason Id ever go back again , is only to support my cousin should he ever do another event their!

I like this place.  But it is definitely a dive. With a capital "D". I will say that every time I've ordered the food I've really enjoyed it, and the prices are very reasonable.  There is a large backyard patio with horseshoe pits, ping-pong, and they will even have a stage sometimes with live local bands.  Inside there's pool tables and even a little eating area.  Sometimes on Saturday nights they push the pool tables away to make a dance floor and they have disco lights and even karaoke.  It's pretty dingy inside, but the kitchen must be cleaner than the bar area because the sign on the window proclaims them to have an "A" rating.

The waitstaff and bartenders have always been friendly, and we have never felt unwelcome even though there is definitely a crowd of locals and regulars.

In short, it's a chill place to relax and have a few drinks and some chow.  Don't wear your fancy shoes, don't expect to hear any hip hop music, and don't mind the fact that the curtain in the ladies room is more like an 80's bedsheet, and you'll be fine.  See it for what it is and just have fun!

The Flinn serves good bar food, good drinks, has music at night (I think)  AND the back patio is a place for your dog to run around while you drink, and smoke and play horseshoes.  They were even setting up for a wedding a couple of weeks ago.  Try the Flinn Skins with a friend, cuz you probably won't want to eat em all and ruin your buzz.

As far as I know, the Flinn isnt known for their food.
Its just a local bar, and its one of the only ones in East County with a dance floor thats not dominated by karaoke.
Its super fun and sometimes, if you are lucky, you will get to see a good old fashioned bar room brawl. Lighten up people, its a bar in a small town.

Plus you can play horseshoes outside on a Sunday afternoon and get served alcohol at the same time :-)

I could have sworn I already wrote a review about here.  The food is great, the nightlife is fun.  You people are crazy and obviously dont go there enough to know that.  Everyone is friendly there and everyone knows everyone so if you ARE a new comer, you probably will get some looks, but dont be scared... no one bites.  And Jill, if it's the Worst. Place. Ever... why do you keep going back??  "everytime I have entered this "establishment" ".... Quit going if you don't like it.  They must be doing something right and keeping people happy if they are still around... and have been for many years!  Go flinn!  Thanks for all the great food and all the fun nights!!!

    Worst.  Place. Ever.
It's like a little slice of deliverance right in San Diego.
Maybe it's because I haven't lifted my truck or had enough teeth fall out, but every time I have entered this "establishment," I get a distinct "you ain't from around here are you?" Vibe.  Funny enough, I live within 200 feet of this place.
The few times I've stepped foot in here have all made me a little noxious.  Someone even wrote "gittir done" on a lost dog poster on the bulletin board -if you think that's funny, you might be redneck, and even worse, you might actually like it here.  And for that, I'm sorry.

I'm sure that locals will disagree with this review as it is definitely popular with them.  However, I recently went there for lunch.  I was appalled.  There were several tables that had not been bussed and the food that was left was covered with flies.  I used the bathroom and in the hallway to the bathroom, plates still covered with half-eaten food were piled in a sink.  The odor was awful.  Needless to say, we didn't stick around to sample the cuisine.
