Classic hole in the wall in a small town... but I hear the grateful dead guys used to jam here because they lived in the area! Â I was here on a thurs. night and there was a cool band there playing classic tunes. Â Decent beers on tap and friendly staff and patrons! Â Worth the stop if you're in the area! Â They have pool tables as well and a roomy area to sit and enjoy the band or a great bar to belly up to!
Review Source:To quote Toby Keith: "I love this bar."
Yes, it's small and dark, the bathrooms are gross, the staff is, well, eclectic and the price of a cocktail (great cocktails) depends on who's working...but that's why you come here!
Nobody is bringing any respectable first dates here, it's not filled with yuppies double parking their Volvo's out front, its the MFin FoVo Club. Period. End. Of. Story!
Kind of a hike to Forestville for most of the county but if there's a band you like playing this place is tough to beat. Great sound system and large dance floor. Everyone seems so surprised when they fall in love with this joint.
As a native Forestville kid, I grew up with an ugly windowless brown building kitty corner to Carr's Drive-in. It always looked kinda sketchy to me. After turning 21 I absolutely had to see what was inside, and by that time I think the inviting mural of the surrounding hills and forest had been painted on the front of the establishment. Kinda dark inside and can seem huge when there's only a few people in there. But Wayne will take good care of you and he makes a mean vodka tonic. Couple pool tables in the back as well.
I haven't been going to the Forestville Club much lately, but the past few time I've gone in I've made the terrible mistake of going in when there was no music - yikes! Not a pretty scene... creepy, it's like watching COPS. I can't stand that show.
REPEAT - this bar is good when the music is rocking and they do get some very good music that brings out a lively crowd, but 10 PM on a Wednesday night - I'll give it a pass.
It's become a tradition to go here on Christmas night for me and my cousins. One of them likes to dance with the chairs on the dance floor. The place can be fun if you bring the crowd with you, Â because the regulars aren't that great. Â There are no Cliff Clavens. Â There is one dirtbag ladie I see in there all the time, Â and people seem to like her and I have no idea why?
Review Source:not my scene, and I love dive bars, this is my 3rd time in here, and I came in pretty drunk, and it still wasn't that fun.
Heavy metal band playing, shooting music videos - we got up and dance with them, and tried to make the crowd look well... like a real crowd instead of the same 15 people.
Been here with big groups - which I will say is better than small (6 of us last time) Â
cash only, so stop at the ATM across the street before heading over.
ps - would have gotten 1 more star but $5 to get into the fo-ville? Â I didn't even pay $5 to get into a club in Las vegas!
I came in here with a bachelorette party of 10 gals in pink tops. Â Most from the city, some from Arizona, San Diego & ONE local. Â The band was great, the drinks were strong. Â The prices were right for the local & the rest of us were gouged. Â The clientele was relatively creepy. Â It was an experience & we had fun. Â Total dive. Â Recommend for a large group when there's a band or when you want to get loaded. Â Not advised for single, pretty gals. Â Bring your herd.
