Totally not what I expected.  Having heard the name Fox and the Hound for years, I was always under the impression that this was a mom and pop pub type establishment.  But it isn't.  It's huge.  Like many many rooms and a large bar type of huge. It's popular. LIke, families, couples, and singles who are ready to mingle on a Saturday night kind of popular. And it's cookie cutter... not that there's anything wrong with that.

The menu is large and varied, and is sure to have something for every tastebud.  It just isn't original.  From the look of the menu to the content within its pages, it reminds you of being at a Fridays.

The Saturday night that I stopped in, I was just thankful that it was open late and was still serving food.  Another nice benefit was the live band and all of the promotions supporting the Restore the Shore initiative.  I would say the only negatives were the fact that the music was so loud that I couldn't hold a conversation with my boyfriend, and the fact that it was also a Corona promotion night.. meaning the waitresses were in the rest room with a pair of scissors while cutting apart t-shirts to a more flattering style.

All in all, I'll be back.

The atmosphere for sports is appropriate, but for dining it is too loud and busy like a club. The beer selection is commendable but the bar food is largely forgettable.

I like this place a lot!

Go there for Tuesdays and Sunday nights, after 10pm, for $2 drafts.  Great place, I like the staff, Emily and AJ for bartenders are awesome.  Also, Sam V is a great server and is a lot of fun.

Place is packed with cute girls, always has the game you want to watch on...

Has plenty of pool tables, great beer selections, and for bar food it is pretty freaking tasty.  I recommend the ranch house burger, or the mini buffalo sliders or cheese burger sliders.

I would recommend signing up for an all-star club card, if you plan going there more than once!

The only complaint I have ever had about this place is the music can be loud, too loud.  Also, sometimes they are playing music instead of the volume for a big game...

Besides that, good food, great drink specials, and very cute servers/bartenders...

Lastly if you know you are planning to have a party of 10 or more (like a work thing) call up and they will give you a private room, three free pizzas, 50 free wings, and chips and salsa.  Plus an hour free of pool or ping pong.

They make an effort to make sure you're happy.  I have been here about 5 times and every time a  manager has checked on us.  Once, the food wasn't up to par and not only was it removed from the bill, but we also were given a coupon for an appetizer.   if you are a sports fan that likes basic pub food, I highly recommend.

$2 Beer Tuesday is the best bet since the food quality is just okay. Great to watch sports and UFC, but that's about it

Place is much better than my original review. The last 4 times here the wait staff have been curtious and fast.
This time the chix strips tasted and smelled of fish. When alerted, the manager offered a new one and bought us a dessert. Very professional.  I recommend it.

Came here on a Tuesday night w/ friends I will breakdown this review as thus:

Positive: 2.25$ draft beers and food is pretty cheap. There were lots of people socializing and some type of entertainment going on for guests.

Negative: Tavern burger was ordered which is a BBQ burger and was dry and not that great. And because it was packed the service was slow, our server kept on disappearing on us and forgetting some of our orders.

A bit pricey, but based on first impressions, I would definitely return. I sampled a few different items, and they were a big step up from your standard bar fare. (Better than anything the Office chain can come up with, for example.) The happy hour beer specials were impressive - Leinie's FTW! The other people at my table raved about a couple of the appetizers, like the mac 'n' cheese bites, and everything got finished quickly. Before I give it five stars, I need to go there a couple more times, because I'm not sure if every item lives up to the high quality. I would want to try an entree (I had already eaten this first time) and a dessert. I'm also not sure it needs to be as expensive as it is. But it was a very good first impression, for sure.

I came here for a trivia night which was fun. But...

The drinks are terrible. I don't think the bartenders know how to make 90% of typical mixed drinks. My friend ordered a  Tom Collins and you'd laugh at what they brought her. I ordered a whiskey sour and it was nasty. How does a place eff up a whiskey sour?

Anyway just order beer here. It's your safest bet.

Went for lunch today. Cool environment. Lots of big screens. However, very pricey for food that can only be described as "pub grub." Bud Lights on draught were $3.75 each, and lunch was mediocre. I go back, because it's a great spot for NFL Sundays.

Food and service are good.  Some dishes are above average.  My issue is the behavior of certain managers on nights when there's a sporting event.  There is no reason to treat a dressed up Bennigans like a dance club.  If 90% of the people are there to watch a particular game, play sound instead of prancing around like you're Donald Trump claiming that it's corporate policy to blast music so you can't hear the game or the person sitting next to you.  Just silly.  The arrogance of the management is the lone reason the group I watch games with will not be back.

Service was good, the waitress checked in a few times to make sure everything was ok, was informative about the restaurant and also friendly.  BUT, the food wasn't that great.  We ordered the spicy garlic wings, hot wings and chili cheese fries and didn't think it much of it to say the least.

The drink specials and happy hour was good, so was the atmosphere with the big TVs, ping pong and pool table.  I may come back for the drinks and hang out but not for the food.

This is a great place to go with a large group of people as an after work sort of thing.

Atmosphere: Big and Open inside, with a ton of tables. It has a beer garden sort of feel to it, with a lot of long skinny tables and bar stools. It gets loud, when I went they were playing top 40 kinda stuff, but there is no dancing, at least not on nights I've been there.

Food&Service: Eh. Come for the beer, not a high end meal, it's pub food.

Crowd: Good mix of people, seemed like a lot of mid 20's, but a group of older people definitely would not feel uncomfortable here. There were many 40+ well into the night. This place is not set up to meet people, everybody is very much in little groups by nature of the seating in the place, so I wouldn't come here trying to meet your future wife. As for the dress, it's pretty casual, but not trashy. I did notice a lot of people who clearly came from work, and they didn't get any funny looks or anything like that so you're clear there.  Crowd was not obnoxious which was pretty nice.

Food sucks, service sucks, why do I keep coming back here....

Three stars for drinks, lots of tvs and the punching bag machine that I keep pumping dollars into.

This review is solely based on their wings. The perfect wing is crispy o the outside oh so tender on the inside and gives you enough flavor to not need to ask for sauce on the side. The spicy garlic wings here are it. Ive been to many sports bars searching for wings that can take on the aforementioned spicy garlic wings. Ive yet to find any in NYC or NJ that is better than this gem. Sure if you a local this spot is probably a place you'd like to avoid in fear of awkward "heys" to highschool friends that we havent seen in a long while.

other than that 2$ tuesdays pint night is pretty great.

Also very large screens to watch sports.

Ehh... I came here for a free happy hour my friend won. It was a Tuesday night, pint night, yet the music was blasting so loud I couldn't hear the person next to me talking. On a Tuesday night, really??  The happy hour itself consisted of 4 Tombstone-size thin crust pizzas (tasted like old school cafeteria/skating rink pie) and 4 dozen wings... for about 25 people.  I know, it's free, but everyone was kind of... disappointed.

This is a great place to go to watch a game (TVs everywhere!), have an unexpected high school reunion (yep, did that too), or lose your hearing.

If you are under the age of 25, this is the ideal place to watch a game or mingle. It's a very young crowd and for the most part the bartenders are not attentive. The food is not enjoyable and the atmosphere is the same. Really there is nothing that makes this place entertaining except the people watching. I have been here a few times over the years and the food has progressively worsened. Their prices are ridiculous too...I prefer Champps.
Atmosphere: Poor, busy during sporting events and young
Food: Poor. Not one dish is redeeming.
Prices: High. Yeah they have specials but they are for crap beer.
Service: Eh. Bartenders will ignore you. Waitresses are ok.
If possible, try Champps instead...within walking distance.

The apps are ok, and they have good drink specials.  As much as I like some aspects of this place, I hate coming here after 7pm.  They play the music so loud you cannot hold a conversation with the people around you.  Don't come here to catch up with a friend you haven't seen in a while or on a first date.  You won't be able to talk without screaming, and they still won't hear you.

This is a sports bar without the sports bar added to it. Great place for drinks and finger foods. Their wings are great and the chili cheese fries are to die for. They have @ least 50 different types of beers import, domestic, and local brewerys. From your pale ales to dark lagers and seasonals their selection is enormous tap or bottled. Always go with the guys and took an ex girlfriend there to just unwind, Dont expect the  server to be with you at all times as it is a large place and they are doing their rounds. This is the place to sit back relax talk with the crew and not be in a rush.

You don't need much to make a goods sports bar.  But friendly bartenders and a decent burger are two of the requirements.  This placed failed on both counts.

We took seats at the bar.  Our bartender approached and neither spoke nor smiled.  We figured at this point the drill was for us to tell her what we wanted to drink and ordered a couple of beers.  30 seconds in and this is already a lousy experience.   We then ordered food, and she served it without saying a word.  It was only a few minutes after 12PM, and they weren't busy at all.  She stopped by with the mandatory "is everything ok?." in a voice barely loud enough to hear.  It actually wasn't; my burger was soggy but I wasn't ever going to come back here again because of her anyway.  After paying the bill, she handed me my change without saying a word.  I'll try Champs next time.

Went there for sunday football, packed parking lot and packed inside...If want to go watch a specific game get their at least an hour before it...b/c seats go quickly.   Plenty of TVs and plenty of space, they convert the pool tables to actually sit down tables

Food definitely get the beer battered chicken wings and the chicken pesto pizza, and i heard the cheeseburger sliders are good.

nothing special about the nachos or the cheese topped fries.

Desserts chocolate cake and cookie with ice cream on top...both amazing

This place sucks. When I say I'd rather go there than anywhere else, I really mean it. Just a terrible mixture of club/frat party/sports bar. It's expensive, inhospitable, and just awful. Go here if you'd like to hang out with some bro's.

    WASTE OF TIME.

My friend and I went here for dinner and could not have gotten shittier service!  The hostess was texting when we walked in, and our waitress had attitude and couldn't stop rolling her eyes. The food is okay but its not worth waiting 20 minutes for! I didn't order a cocktail but I heard they are as bad as the staff.

Everything is pretty average about this place, but I do like that you can rent the ping pong table by the half hour. Most nights they have some kind of drink special. It's a good place to watch football, baseball, etc, because they have plenty of TVs.

I used to like coming here when I first turned 21 but since then they started playing shitty music, took away the juke box, and started skimping on food. I never would get a mixed drink here because ITS NOT WORTH IT. The cups are so small and if you don't get something on special your wallet will be raped. It's like all the people in high school you weren't friends with are there and from 20 different school. The only think good I can say is there is at least two things on special nightly.
They also charge for the UFC fights and its way too crowded on these nights. So I go to another bar around the corner THAT DOESN'T CHARGE!

A nice local bar near Menlo Park Mall. We come here every
now and then to hangout, eat and drink, watch games on their multiple tvs.
The wing special on Mondays are awesome buy 10 get 10 free. I usually get the spicy garlic wings. Pretty good. But I feel sometimes they are hit or miss, one day its really good and some days its just ok.

Can get really packed during special events, playoffs, fights and things like that. They have a couple pool tables and a couple dart boards. Overall, not a bad place to just chill and don't have to drive far.

Been going here for a couple of years for sports and UFC showing.

They do charge a 5 dollar cover after 10. It's always busy here for a pay per view event.

Food is not worth writing about.

Lots of TV and the staff work nice and attentive.

This bar/restaurant was pretty big and fun.  The tables around the bar were pretty comfy - high tables with booths around them.  The waitress was friendly.  The mozzarella sticks and potato skins were fab, as was the beer.  I'd come back for drinks for sure.

I came here for the first time in years just recently and I must say, I had a good time.

$2 pints are always a win.

Waitresses with cleavage busting out of their shirt, another big win.

The bar food was as expected.

The reason I decided to leave the review though, the bathroom had a mouth wash dispenser with disposable mini cups. I've never seen this anywhere before and thought this was really awesome.

I gave four stars though because there's a reason I haven't been there in years. On a typical Friday or Saturday night, it's meat head and Jersey skanks city. I hated it when I was in college and I still hate it today.

I'm surprised actually by the current rating. I was admittedly torn between a 3 and 4 star review, but I did 3 because no one's done 4 and I often succumb to peer pressure.

This place is not that bad. However, I've never actually come for dinner. I've had some of their bar food like the pretzels, chicken fingers, etc., and I didn't think it was all that bad. In fact, I thought the pretzels were good, albeit maybe a little greasier than necessary.

Anyway... you have a huge bar, and a bunch of other rooms with waitress service (including pool tables and such). Yea, the girls working there aren't wearing parkas, but I never cared to make it a big deal. As long as they bring me my beer, they can be wearing Lady gaga-esque meat dresses for all I care.

Tuesdays are a good day to go because they have $2 beers... and as classy as I consider myself, I like to drink beer and I like to drink it when it's cheap. Pretty sure they have specials throughout the week so it's worth checking their site out to see.

Place is always pretty crowded, but I've had no trouble getting a table near the bar. I hate going to a bar where there are like 4 stools and no where to sit. That's a plus in my book.

Anyway... yea it IS a bar attached to a mall. Please don't walk in expecting a fancy time, because then you will be (a) disappointed and (b) kinda stupid, because why the frick were you expecting a fancy place attached to menlo park mall of all places??

......also find it funny that the downside is that it's a jersey-kind-of-place. Last time I checked, Middlesex County was smack in the middle of jersey. If that's a problem then it's recommended you go to the city and prepare to spend $9 a beer so you can be part of the scene.

Love the wings here!  Mondays are buy 10 wings get the other 10 for free!  Get the spicy garlic flavor its good stuff!  Beers here are ok, we usually get cherry wheat, but they have specials throughout the week, so just ask the servers for them.

We usually swing by here during playoff series!  Whether its baskeball, baseball, & football.  During a boxing pay-per-view event you have to pay i think an entrance fee of $5 dollars I think.  Either way its a steal!  Plus, the waitresses arent bad looking either!  They have pool tables and darts if you and your friends are bored!  But you can never be bored at this place!  You can only have FUN!

Is this what society has become? So it's cool to actually party it up and drink at bar/restaurant attached to the mall after hours? So after graduating college, life outside of school was too much of a shock that restaurants/bars mimicking college frat life has to be created to help them transition over?

Girls in skimpy outfits, both patrons and staff choice of wear. Only way you can tell one from the other, is that the waitresses are all in black. But don't worry like all hot girls, they don't care to talk to you, even if its their job to service your table.

Their interpretation of a pitcher. So the pitcher comes in this tall shaft with a spout. Hello if you are a bright person you will know that the beer will be extremely warm by the time you finish, due to the increase surface area of the beer exposed to the atmosphere.

Fish and chips? Yes, I would love some fish covered in batter with my cup of oil that I plan on drinking down.

Talk? No it's ok I don't need to talk to my friends, please go and blast the music up so I can become deaf.

Frat boys? Sure, I love em. Funny how they all look like the Guido Sensation.

It is what it is... an extremely dark and expansive sports bar with tons of seating, TVs everywhere to catch all sports at all angles of the room, pool tables, lots of waitresses with low cut shirts on -- this place definitely caters to men. It's definitely good for those reasons but for me there just seemed to be more negatives than good...

-- Bar Food: It is a bar. Don't expect bar food to be amazing. I had my standards pretty low already but just to give a heads up I decided to get Jamaican Chicken and while it was edible, the chicken was tough and I swear the rice pilaf was "Near East" box brand. Again... no big deal... for next time I probably should stick to burgers, they're hard to mess up

-- No First Aid Kit??: My boyfriend's friend got a little tipsy/emotional during the Ghana USA world cup game and ended up on accident breaking two beer glasses. We ended up getting most of the shards but I ended up cutting my elbow on a piece and was bleeding for a good hour of the game. Asked the waitress if she could bring over a bandaid as I was bleeding... time passes...she comes back and gives me paper towels and ice. No First Aid Kit? That's a problem.

-- No toilet paper : The line for the men's bathroom was really long after the game (rare sighting) so I was psyched to just waltz right into the women's bathroom. Hmm.. great, none of the stalls had toilet paper!!

It was a crappy experience. There are definitely better sports bars to socialize and watch games at than this place.

Standard sports bar affair.  Lots of projections and TVs for whatever current event is there.  Recently was here for the Ghana v USA game.  Ample space and seating.

Food is standard bar food, nothing fancy, good to go with whatever you're drinking.  Atmosphere is loud, darker than some other places; we were in  the next to last room with the pool tables, which were also covered so people could eat on those too.  If you have beer drinkers in your group, definitely look at buying a beer tower.  Exactly what you think, a cylinder filled about 2.5L-3.0L of beer.  Beats paying by the glass, plus you dont have to wait for your server to come around.

Service was alright, they checked up on us semi-regularly, definitely harder when the place is fully packed.

All in all, it's a good place to gather for anything, get there early for any event, it does fill up quick.

I came to this place to see the Manny Pacquiao vs. Cotto Boxing Match. It was packed house and good atmosphere.

I been here a couple of times and the food is good with lots of beer selections. Great place to watch sports games because they have large TV screens all around. There are 2 pool tables all the way in the back. The venue mostly staff female as bartenders and waitresses.

This is a great place for afterwork, celebrate a birthday, or to go to for just about any type of event. Bar games, restaurant seating, bar area-great place to go to for a good time.

It depends what you are looking for... A sports bar with bad food? Perfection! I tried eating there a couple times cause it was the new in spot in Edison.  The first time I went there, the air conditioning was dripping on my friend, which may sound hot, but it was pretty disgusting.  Then all our entrees came out wrong and tasted like butt cheeks.  The drinks were what salvaged the night. Thank goodness for liquor.  So the second time I thought, ok I will try chicken quesidillas, cause how can you mess that up? Hmm I don't think I ordered it with fish bones, but hey, I don't want to mess up the chef's style.  So if you are looking to just go out and Drink, maybe play pool and watch a football game, I would recommend it.  As for any meal of food, there is a Mc Donalds a jump skip and a hop away.

    Not a bad place.

It tends to be as loud as a club but with no noticable place to dance so the music tends to be a bit overpowering for no reason. The food seems very bar-ish. Nachos, mozzerella sticks and the like. Tends to be crowded with the 21-28 crowd. A lot of Central Jersey italian guys in their Affliction and assorted MMA style t-shirts (most of whom have never trained a day in their life...but thats another story.) having a beer and pointing at girls. The place is very large and the bar is a good 30-40 feet long with 3-4 bartenders. Tough to get a beer at times. Plenty of flat screens with any possible sporting event going on.

Nothing bad about the place. But the crowd is very Jersey. If you like that, you'll like this place. If not, start heading for the tunnel.
