Fox Theatre

It's a nice local venue, if you're looking for something real big this is not were to go. But for a local night out it does well.  For the (20's crowd mostly)

The theater is a cool venue but the employees are terrible here.  They have power issues and feel the need to be rude to all of their customers just because they can. I am 20 and went here last year when I was 19. I had not consumed ANY alcohol that night and they tried to tell me I was intoxicated and was not allowed in. I ended up calling the police and telling the officer to come to the venue to breathalyze  me to prove to them I hadn't consumed any alcohol. I handed the phone to the lady at the door and she pretended like she didn't know what I was talking about and hung up the phone. I had to call the police on myself to get into a show I was sober for and missed nearly half of the show. They will never get my business again until they reevaluate their staff.

for a standing room only venue, it's pretty spacious and nearly any spot we stood had an excellent vantage point of the stage.  the bar is located outside, which is much nicer than most music venues i've encountered in san francisco.  cool bands play here and most shows aren't sold out right away.  cute retro facade and the bathroom stalls were pretty clean.
