The events are getting better, but went to the Ho'ike on Saturday. In the balcony, the air conditioning was blowing on us off and on all thru the show. It wasn't that hot in there...
I would have told someone, but we were squished in the middle of the row. Got outside and it was a little warmer than inside.
The volume of the microphones vs. the cd music was not in sync either. Not sure who's responsible for that. I hope things improve. It's an historic site.
We went there for Peninsula Symphony's last performance of the season. Parking was easy since the structure next to Century Theaters is never full.
The 1920's setting was very intimate. It wasn't cold like San Francisco's Louise M. Davis Symphony Hall. One could sit in the 3rd row of the balcony and enjoy the full experience of music.
I liked that we could eat in the theater. Our neighbors were very friendly and struck up a conversation with us. It was clear that they were there because they enjoyed music and not because they were pretentious. We all felt really relaxed.
Would I go there again? Yes. I wouldn't go there for Joan Rivers in October, though.
First off I want to give thanks to YELP for hooking me up with some sweet tickets to the Peninsula Symphony show!
I had never been to this theatre before and that's because I usually never travel to RWC. As soon as I walked in it reminded me of the California Theatre in Downtown San Jose. It looks old but with very nice detail. This was the best part of the whole theatre
There is lower and upper level seating. We sat up top and had a great view. Seems like in the lower level they have fold up chairs and up top they have set seating. I must say that the seats closer to the balcony are much nicer. Try to sneak into these if you can
They had an old school set up in the restroom. They had the old urinal tub looking things where you just pee in the open. They also had two other stall.
The Staff is really nice here. They open the door for you when you arrive and when you leave. Very nice people at will call too!
I will definitely look and see what other shows are coming to this theatre in the future
