D Tequila Lounge

The ambiance and decor were "trying too hard" to be trendy, and I just felt like this place was too cool for school, but not really.  The drinks were overpriced for what you got and the food was just okay.

Bland chips and salsa.  Advice:  Base your restaurant around the food and then the decor.  It's kind of "Restaurant 101"....

Around midnight on a Saturday night, I'm starving and frantically searching Yelp for an open (and delicious) food joint.  Though Yelp told us they were closed, the pulsing music from within told us that they were VERY open...and upon inquiry, still serving food!

We sat at the bar (surprisingly unbothered by the vibrating dance music coming from the room behind us), and were served by the lovely Diane. Our Margaritas were served immediately and my order of Nachos with Chicken came just after the arrival of our second round.  And they were SO GOOD.  We have NEVER - NEVER - had SO many more toppings than chips, and in this case we had enough for another entire order.  It only made sense to order a flour tortilla to go (onto which we dumped the nacho leftovers).  No less, I DEVOURED that burrito today.  

I couldn't tell you if the margaritas influenced my love of those nachos or if they really are just that good, but I would bet it's a little of both.  Too, the service was beyond excellent.  We are SO going back.

Watery drinks for a high price.

Ambiance is basic bar, nothing special.  We were hopeful for a good margarita given the broad assortment on the shelf, but the El Jimador version I asked for came with nearly no tequila or lime flavor, and it was more like watered down limeade than anything else.

Chips & salsa were equally bland, though I give a nod to the chips for being nicely warmed and in good quantity.

Still, if you're going to pay $10 for a margarita, walk a couple doors north to the old saloon (Martin's West), or around the corner to Milagros.
