This is a great place for practice and lessons. Most of the regular patrons are here for either of the two.
I often come with competitive dancers to practice. The environment is very much like the scene out of the Japanese version of "Shall We Dance?". It's an old ballet studio renovated into a ballroom studio. There's still the side studio where the barres are still installed. I usually use those for stretching. There are always some youth couples or students that are ridiculously good.
However... Beginners! Don't be scared off! There are group classes on Weekday evenings, listed under the website's "Activities Schedule". The Sunday evenings I've been there, I've always come right before dance parties start.
This place is small, and the parking is street parking and a bit hard to find at times, but the independent instructors are top notch. Moreover, the owners are sweet and caring! It's a laid-back environment filled with hard-working dancers. It's definitely the best dance studio in the Palo Alto area.
