I stopped here in a pinch on Sunday after driving by for 5 years. Â I ordered 2 slices to go, and asked for them to be very hot since I had to get it home, and I like my pizza on the well-done side. Â After a few minutes in the oven, the pizza was boxed and I was sent on my way.
Let's start with the box. Â It said "Francesca's Pizza - Â Hot and Delicious - Made Just for You". Â I find a lack of truth in advertising here! Â Yes, it was from Francesca's, and yes it was pizza. Â But, it was far from hot, not even close to delicious, and I am POSITIVE it was not made just for me. Â In fact, I'm not even sure it was made that day! Â If I specifically asked for them well done, why pop them out of the oven after just a couple of minutes and serve them to me lukewarm? Â I asked for the slices well done, and would have been happy to wait for them.
Sure, the slices were a decent size, and not horribly priced ($2.50 for a plain slice), but it was bland, and overpriced for the quality. Â And to add insult to injury, it was floppy and undercooked, which was even more offensive since they were re-heated slices!!!!
I'm from Brooklyn, so I grew up with some of the best pizza in the world, and am admittedly biased. Â But there are much better places in this area for better pizza. Â Try Frankie & Augiez or Pizza Pizzazz. Â Both places will give you much better quality and value.
This place is recently under new management and unfortunately the food isn't that good. My wife ordered a slice of white pizza yesterday and had to literally scrape off the rigotta because it tasted so vile. She ultimately threw out the pizza. Note to management...hire a professional pizza chef, so at least you can start to compete with Gigi's in Jefferson Valley.
