Frigate Steak House

I took my 70+ year old mom here last Fall and thought it was very good. Its a strange place though, reminiscent of restaurants of the 50's and 60's. Small dining room with no music, so its intimate. Picture eating in a large residential dining room with other people around you where you can hear a pin drop or someones latest biopsy results.
The decor is quaint nautical, not too kitschy. The service was very good and attentive, the food was excellent with good portions. Very homey and comforting place to dine. I had a veal parm which was real veal done just right and mom had the seafood casserole also very good.
They give you warm carrot cake and cheese and crackers to start the meal, a nice touch. Only a service bar, so don't expect to tear the place up after dinner with boiler makers and Jeager bombs. have your Manhattan and be happy.
