The Galaxy

Do yourself a favor and skip this place. I have not been there this summer, but I've been on various occasions over the past summers, and this Galaxy is a frontier better left unexplored. Way too many Mainers trying to get their ghetto on, the bartenders don't know how to mix drinks, and the music is atrocious. Every year, I hit OOB hoping that Galaxy has been replaced with a more palatable nightspot for us normal folks. Will be up there this coming weekend. Here's hoping...

The Galaxy was my jam for summer 2010 but the place is small, the ppl r weird. But $2 you call it drinks and no cover charge. It was a nice stumble for me to get there so i liked it. My fav dj is gone now so I don't go anymore. Music sucks by anyone else.... Just saying. Though I won't be living in OOB this summer, I might have to revisit only because the staff are decent ppl.

I went here while on my 4th anniversary vacation with my boyfriend over Memorial Day weekend. We went twice because there isn't much to do in Old Orchard Beach for night life unless you're into biker bars or rock cover bands. We love to dance so this was the only place to go for that.

It was super cheesy & over priced at the door, but the drinks were cheap. The drinks weren't very good, but the bartender kept putting too much booze by accident so it was ok. The clientele was skeevy. Everyone was ugly, fat, &/or rhythmically challenged. Most of the regulars were super white Maine kids trying to be ghetto fab. The only people of color were clearly tourists. There was an overabundance of scantily clad drunken girls with over bleached hair & alot of chubby girls in tiny clothes. The guys were drunken midgets & I got hit on my all of them the minute my boyfriend went to the bathroom. There were alot of drunken short men from Quebec who wouldn't leave me alone & danced terribly.

My boyfriend & I got super drunk & made fun of everyone for our own entertainment. The only normal people we met was a couple from Portland. The guy break-danced with my boyfriend (my boyfriend teaches break-dancing classes) while I chatted & drank with the girl.
