Maybe someone can explain to me how a restaurant in Maine can serve a steamed lobster barely warm and a side of steamers (clams for you land lubbers) a little colder than the beer that I ordered. Probably because it sat waiting for the server to deliver it to our table. When I told her the lobster was only warm she was not very interested. What a shame.

The onion rings were, however, somewhat warmer and pretty good!

This place sort of confuses me. I stand by my original review, but I'm confused. This place is situated at the end of the Pier, however, there is an area before you enter the actual club, which is divine. You must show ID to get past security, but once you do, it's an open air area, with a bar along one side and tables set up along the other, with a small stage. I went up there during the day one afternoon, and we ordered some drinks and sat in the sun. There was an incredibly entertaining guy playing a keyboard, who announced that it was "All Request Wednesday". He had little binders on the tables that listed all the songs he played. We threw some ones in his jar, and requested a couple of songs, which he gladly played for us. It was a very pleasant afternoon, sitting in the sun, drinking the "Pier Punch". We returned a couple of nights later, for "Ladies Night", which meant myself and my brother's girl didn't have to pay the $5 cover to get in. It was a very different vibe, but still fun. Lots of very hooker-ish looking girls passing test tube and Jello shots (which were yummy), and I mean hooker-ish in the nicest possible way - hey, they need to make money, right? There was an odd spacey jam type band on the small stage, with some older ladies (like 50s) trying to get down on the dance floor. It was pretty awkward to watch, but entertaining.

Anyway, I just wanted to update this review to say that the outer portion of the Pier Patio Pub is fabulous, lots of fun. I'd still skip the club though, it is really lame in there.

I don't know why this place doesn't have better reviews, I mean for what it is (a dive bar pub on a tourist pier) it's great. You should not come here expecting a high class experience, excellent food or 5 star decor... it's OOB folks and it's full of tourists so of course the prices are going to be high!

Unlike many of the reviews we had a great time here, and enjoyed some beers while sitting outside enjoying the ocean breeze & view. The staff was incredibly friendly & fast and the prices were totally reasonable in my opinion ($4-$5 beers and $7-$9 mixed drinks). The place wasn't too crowded so we easily found a nice table and it was really cool to see the waves crashing down below.

What you are paying for is the location, and it's totally worth it and a must stop if you are in OOB.
