My first bison burger experience happened at the Geyser Grill. This wasn't my first choice, but obtaining a bison burger in Yellowstone proved to be challenging. What kind of food stand serves every kind of burger imaginable including a salmon burger, but not bison - in Yellowstone, mind you. I was beyond frustrated and had told myself I wasn't going to leave the area without having a bison burger. If it wasn't for the Geyser Grill outside of the park in West Yellowstone, I would have been wildly disappointed.

The burger ended up being nothing exciting. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but basically it tasted like a gamey version of a hamburger. However, after a quick search online, I learned how much healthier bison meat is compared to beef.

The huckleberry lemonade was tasty, although a bit on the sweet side. Another local berry that you don't see often in CA.

Thanks for satisfying my need for bison, Geyser Grill!

The food was mostly good. The space is small. Not enough places to sit inside.

The buffalo burger was dry and there was no mayo in the entire place. The fish was tasty, but really buttery. Good salad and potato. Really slow service. The staff seemed reluctant and not happy about helping.

I could eat there again if I had to, but would probably choose something else.
