Not really a fast food place, but then that's not the point of Glory Days. Â You drink in the atmosphere as much or more than your soda of choice. Â
It is very much a themed restaurant with vintage sports memorabilia from local teams in Clay and Vigo counties where you look around, surrounded by the past, maybe your own.
The PA pipes in period music as well.
As for the food, well you remember the flying saucer that destroyed the White House in Independence Day? Â That's about the size of the burger they bring you. Â The flame grilled meat, coupled with the bun reminded me of Sahm's of Pendleton, but without the North Indy traffic to get to it. Â The fries? Â PERFECT! Â
I've nothing but decent things to say of Glory Days and really don't wish to meet the person who doesn't, except maybe to put a boot in their backside.
BRILLIANT! Â I wish I made it down to my Mom's and over there more often.
We stopped in while on a lengthy detour for Route 46. Â A diner out front, and a (smallish) sports bar in the back. We sat in a booth in the bar, baseball playoffs on the TVs.
The food we had was quite good (I had the Hot Brown, my girlfriend the BLT). Â their homemade potato chips were awesome.
If I ever find my way back to Clay City, I'll definitely eat here again!
