This place only gets stars for being the only BBQ joint in Lumberton. The brisket is okay and the sauce is edible, but the sides are terrible. I love some corn pudding, but it was more like canned corn with some tomatoes in it? Weird.

It was also pretty darn expensive. I paid over $12.00 for brisket and two sides and a drink. But perhaps I got well over a half pound or more of brisket, so if you're someone who can eat that much, it might be a good deal. I prefer places where you can order your meat by the pound so I can control my portion and my price.

I like the wood-burned booths in here, very perfect Texas BBQ theme, and the place is pretty large with two dining rooms, though I've never seen enough cars in the parking lot to warrant that kind of space.

The only saving grace was the brisket.  It was pretty lean brisket (which I prefer) and it was tender.  Good flavor.

The sauce wasn't that great.  The sides were all pretty poor looking.  I chose the baked beans (from a can?  really not good) and the corn casserole (not much flavor, tasted very processed).  No mashed potatoes or macaroni?  The potato salad and other items just looked terrible.

The tables were all kind of wobbly, just a tiny bit sticky.

The guys behind the counter were FARRRR from helpful. No smiles, no customer service.  No suggestions, no questions.  Just straight up 'what you want'?  It was all of our first time there, and it was obvious they had no interest in serving us a meal that we'd enjoy.

Really good food. The potato salad was reminiscent of cold 'baked potato salad.'. Which I love by the way. I ordered a chopped beef po-boy. Man was it huge! Had to eat it with a fork due to the glorious mess. Blackberry cobbler was juicy and delectable . I'll definitely be back.  The only downside was the price.  For me alone it was nearly $20.  Seemed a little pricey for just some BBQ, drink, side and dessert. I'd it was priced right I would give it four stars.

Brisket was really good. Loved the cole slaw. The sauce kinda killed it for me...it had more vinegar flavor than I care for...but that's just personal preference. The place was clean and the staff was friendly enough. I am told Friday night is B1G1 steak night. By the looks of my husband's steak sandwhich...it might be worth the short drive to try steak night!
