Took my parents here this past Monday, 11/26/12 - to celebrate my mom's 65th bday, since she's a Chinese food fan gone wild.
We ordered the Scallops w/veggies, Shrimp Eggroll, Egg Foo Young, Chicken Subgum, w/fried rice. Food was great!
Made me a bit nervous that we were the only patrons in the establishment, but I'm glad they proved themselves. ;) But I selected this place trusting my fellow Yelpers' reviews too!
Our server was a bit timid but was very friendly, just think I startled him w/my enthusiasm and questions about the menu.
TIP: Try to sneak in before 3:30pm so you can save a bit in $ and order off of the Lunch Menu.
Their fortune cookies were even tasty - obviously, they don't make/package them in-house, but whoever they chose as a vendor - 2 thumbs up! I could taste nice vanilla and almost a tad of cinnamon? Yum!
Awesome lunch specials!!! Â Quite a few to choose from. Â 2 Items with soup for under 5 bucks!! Large portions, fresh, and hot. Attentive, fast, and pleasant service is the standard here. You can't really go wrong.
We dine here quite often and have never had a complaint at all. As a rule in Astoria, most all of the Chinese places are about the same as far as quality, pricing, portions, etc. Â It is the typical Americanized-Chinese fare with very subtle flavour differences between the main players in the restaurant scene.
We've eaten here a couple of times. It's our favorite place to go in Astoria. The service is wonderful and the food is great. It's very clean and you can eat either the dining room or the bar. The service in both is wonderful. Â Much better than the other Chinese options in Warrenton or Astoria.
Review Source:Great place for Chinese in Astoria. Â Probably not a 5 star rating compared to other ares of the country, but definitely for the North Coast. Get the BBQ'd pork - it never disappoints. Fill up on a great meal and drink for $10. We used to live next to the Hong Kong and we would drive 5 miles to the Golden Luck rather than have mediocre at best Chinese food a 1/2 block away.
Review Source:We were in Astoria to tour the Columbia River Maritime Museum, and stopped at this friendly place for dinner. There were four of us, and we all chose different dishes. Everyone was very happy with our selections. The food was hot and delicious, cooked to order, and the service was very friendly.
In fact, we liked it so much that we drove 15 miles, from across the river in Washington, to go back again! It was just as good the second time around. My wife and I could not finish our meals, the serving sizes were so big, and the bill, with drinks, was under $20!
My husband and I went to this restaurant as part of a pre dinner meeting for a geocaching event that was going to take place in the Astoria area the next day so the choice was not ours, although we were under the impression that it was a buffet but found out different upon arrival, this was OK, as the food was good and the drinks we ordered from the bar were not half bad either, along with the great service what more could you ask for. We do have friends who live nearby so next time we are in town we will try to make this a stop.
