Ohh boy, did I get excited by these pancakes! I ordered the Hawaii pancake. Four delicious cakes topped with pineapple and strawberry and a cherry on top! Ohh did I mention that it came with a freaking umbrella, yeah it did. Heck yeah!
The cakes were warm and yummy. The service was beyond awesome! I highly recommend this place. I want to go back and try non breakfast food.
My grandfather was a cook in WWII and legend has it that when he got home, he would usually make large quantities of whatever he was making since he was used to serving up meals for his fellow troops. Â When I saw my pancakes at Grandma's Pancake House on Sunday morning, I thought for a second that my Grandfather was back in the kitchen. Â This beautiful stack of four plate sized pancakes was placed in front of me, I was shocked. Â Covered in beautiful baked apples and a light dusting of powered sugar, it was a bit of a work of delicious art. Â I even mentioned to my better half that it looked a little like the Capital Records building in LA. Â
Our server was great and did give me a little light natured teasing about not being able to finish my meal. Â
The size aside, I have never tasted pancakes like these before. Â Apple cinnamon pancakes with just the right amound of spice to provide a comforting kiss to the taste buds. Â
Sadly, we don't live closer to Shelbyville, but I would happily recommend this nice little gem to anyone travelling up and down I-74 between Indianapolis and Cincinnati.
My family and I absolutely LOVE GRANDMA'S PANCAKE HOUSE! Â The food is AMAZING and the SERVICE is ALWAYS EXCEPTIONAL!! Â I have never had a bad meal here. Â Nor have I EVER had bad service. My family and I travel through Indianapolis on a regular basis and always make it a point to stop by Grandma's Pancake House for an Excellent Breakfast!
The menu has many options for Breakfast and Lunch. Â If you want the BEST BREAKFAST you should try the "Little Bit of France." Â It is Cinnamon Spiral French Toast smothered with sauteed cinnamon apples, raisins and pecans. Â For Dinner there you should go there on a Friday night and try the Chicken Kabob!! (Friday and Saturday nights are the only nights that this fine establishment is open for dinner!) Â
In my opinion, Grandma's Pancake house should be honored on Guy Fiore's Diner's, Drive Ins and Dives TV Show. Â This place has AMAZING PANCAKES....they are very moist and fluffy with a great flavor..ALSO DELICIOUS RICE PUDDING!!!
Go there for a meal and I promise you that you will go back for more!
