Gray's Coors Tavern

Gray's if famous for its sloppers, and if you don't know what that is it means that you have to get one and find out. A great bar that has become a local institution. Well worth stopping by or even making a destination if your swinging through town.

This place is recommended as a place to take an out-of-town guest? Really? This place is a total dive bar, but I must warn you--it's filthy. First off, minus one star for service being non-existent. We sat ourselves and after our order was taken, no one came by to ask if we needed refills, etc. There was a line to pay and did I mention it's dirty?  Minus 2 more stars cuz that's just nasty. In our table was a gumball dispenser with pistachios (who knows how long it's been there), and it was absolutely filthy. It was cloudy from the inside of the dispenser with filth/grease all over it. The seating was uncomfortable as someone mentioned before it is like sitting in a church pew.
As far as the food goes their claim to fame is the "Slopper." Which initially, sounds like a burger topped with some chili, but it's actually a chili soup with a burger in the middle of the bowl. It was ok....I would go with the green over the red chili. Their fries tasted like it came from the freezer. Nothing too memorable and considering the whole experience, definitely would not go back.
