Greek Isles

Gyros are some of the best, hummus is good and can be really good.  However we tried the Backlava and it was not a winner at all, some of the others are mentioning similar items, maybe you should stick with the basics here.  Why is it always empty?  The gyros are good, but doesn't give me confidence in the restuarant.

LOVE this place! Food is fantastic and you get large portions! The owner is absolutely the greatest! He always talks with you and amazingly remembers who you are! (Not sure if I could do that!). My brothers came with us the first time we went and he always asks how they are doing. Great food and great people, what more can you ask for?

My husband and I tried this restaurant after reading the reviews and were really disappointed.

I was put off right at the start when we walked in and weren't greeted, especially considering we were the only ones in the restaurant.  We helped ourselves to some menus and sat down while we looked it over and it was about 10 minutes before the cashier came over to take our order (turns out it was an "order at the register" type place.)  When we went to check out, we were over charged by $200 and the cashier couldn't fix it, so the owner was called in.  We did get this resolved.

My husband ordered a gyro and fries and myself and another couple split the Greek Sampler.  My husband said the gyro was very good, but the sampler was a real let down.  We were served two platters of various items on the menu and I wasn't impressed with any of it.  As another reviewer said, the Spanakopita and other phyllo pastry tasted microwave reheated (at least use an oven!) and the pasta casserole dish was awful.  I would compare it to hamburger helper with a quiche topping.  The combination of meat and dips served with pita was the highlight of this dish, for sure, and I enjoyed the flavor of the tzatziki.  It's worth mentioning that the menu stated that the Sampler came with a  gyro, but this was never brought out to us.

In a nutshell, I would not go back here unless I was in the area and wanted a gyro.  That seems to be the only thing worth the money.  It's my suspicion that the people that wrote good reviews visited when the owners were in, because we did not have good service, or good food.
