I visit Greensburg often and have come to appreciate GBCC as my home away from home. I think I've tried half the wraps on the menu and haven't had one yet that I didn't like. Coffee's fine. Tim (the "grumpy guy" in the one-star review) is gruff but lovable in my opinion. He has a courteous and competent staff. Service can be pretty slow in a rush, but I always chalk that up to the place's popularity -- and anyway, I'm rarely in a hurry when I walk into the Green Bean. The wifi is speedy, the TV is unobtrusive (and they have Wii), and there's just a nice vibe to the place.
Review Source:Must Stop. After hours on the road, we thankfully rolled into Greensburg and I looked for a coffee shop online. I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised with Green Bean Coffee Company. Â Ordered a latte and it was perfect; perfect temperature, perfect taste. The employees were super nice. I wished we hadn't just eaten because their food menu looked delightful. If I'm ever doing a cross-country trip again, I'll be sure to find a way to stop by Green Bean again! "Thanks a Latte for the fantastic pick me up"...yes, I just said that. But for real, Stop Here! You will not be disappointed.
Review Source:If you're cruising through Greensburg to see how the green rebuild is going, you'll kick yourself for not stopping for a caffeine break at the Green Bean. My co-worker and I were working in the area, and in need of a lunch & email break. Luckily, we found the Green Bean!
They've done a great job with this place - in addition to all sorts of coffee drinks and Italian sodas, they have a great variety of paninis, sandwiches, burritos, and soups. You can kill some time waiting for your food by playing the Wii (which I sadly missed out on), hooking up to free wifi, or chilling in front of the TV. If that's still not enough for you, the Green Bean adjoins a shop next door, and when I was there you could wander between the two. Â
The decor is cozy - bright but not obnoxious colors, cool artwork, and nifty bathrooms. That's right - I dig the two-choice toilets! They've also got various recycling bins set up, which gives me the warm fuzzies. I love recycling!
I don't think that many people passing through realize you can get food here in addition to coffee. While I was eating, some dude came in and asked where the nearest restaurant was. When the owner pointed out her menu and said she has a restaurant license, the guy still opted to go elsewhere. His (major) loss!!
The Green Bean Coffee Co. serves excellent coffee and sandwiches, with a very friendly atmosphere, and "green" business model. The cafe is located within the new City of Greensburg Business Incubator Building, a facility set up to promote sustainable green development in this small town that was levelled by a devastating tornado in 2007.
