Review Source:I'm a fan of the Greene Turtle in West OC so one evening I decided to give this place a try in Salisbury. Â It was a Tuesday and the place was practically empty. Â There were no major sporting events going on. Â I had a seat at the bar and the bartender was very prompt and friendly. Â The menu was the same as the other Greene Turtle I had been to. Â The layout is a Sports Bar with additional dining seating. Â TV set up seemed good and I'm sure its a nice locale come football season. Â I'll likely give it a go again.
Review Source:This is a really attractive Sports Bar & restaurant. Â I come here for lunch from time to time. Â I usually order one of their various Burgers. Â Today was the Chipotle Burger with spicy chipotle sauce, pepperjack cheese & corn salsa, which was good. I usually stick with any of their line of Burgers, but I did have a good blackened twin tuna steak entree once. Â GT does pub grub/bar food very good and doesn't disappoint if you visit for Dinner, either. Â Also, many, many plasma TV's inside, and there is a personal TV at every booth which you can tune to whatever you like.
Review Source:By far the best hang out for our clan o' hooligans! Â When we gather (frequently) the Turtle in Salisbury is our number one choice! Food is yummy and we attended to by the best. Fun is the word that comes to mind, but please leave the kids behind...this is a place for grownups and good times! Matter o' fact, we will be there this Friday...mugs o' clanking!
Review Source:I love coming here for lunch. Â I love their boneless buffalo strips aka " turtle tenders". In the last 10 visits that's all I've gotten. Â Im hooked. Their menu is very extensive so I'm sure anyone can find something they like. Â The service is great most of the time. Â It seems at night they can be a little understaffed.
It's a very welcoming place to go. Â It's bar food, but bar food at its BEST. Â If you are a regular ( and love beer) you can get your own personal mug and they store it til your next visit. I think there is some kind of discount involved in that. ( my husband has one). Â All in all, it's a very enjoyable place.
It's loud, there are tons of tvs, and the locals are very protective of their mugs and table space. Â It's tucked in the corner of a strip mall. Â Don't plan on walking there, since there are no sidewalks and a guard rail separates the divided highway. Â Prompt and friendly bar staff that didn't flinch when I presented my Groupon.
Review Source:The menu is rather extensive, so most likely there is something for everyone on the menu. Â However, the food is still bar food through and through, so if you're looking for some type of gourmet dish, this probably isn't the place for you. Â Yes, it is a sports bar with a dining atmosphere, so it's going to get a little loud and if there's a big game on, it's going to get really loud. Â Sports + alcohol = don't complain when you hear people in the bar cursing, swearing, or acting like drunken idiots. Â As the night progresses, you probably want to leave the kids at home. Â You are in a sports bar with a dining area. Â
The food is okay, and the prices are reasonable. Â On my last adventure back to Salisbury my mom and I went to the Turtle and between a few beers, appetizer, and two entrees, the bill was $50. Â I live in Boston and that same meal would have easily been $75 up north. Â
You really can't go wrong with the burgers! Â You can always ask for any condiment - including the different types of barbeque sauces. Â I wasn't too impressed with the crab dip - it was more cheesy than crabby, but it wasn't a deal-breaker. Â All in all, it's not a bad deal for your buck.
Sidenote: Â the people-watching aspect of this place is great. Â It's truly the epicenter of Delmarva at some times. Â And if you go there more than once, there's a very good chance you're going to see the same people in the bar day in and day out.
I can't make it down there because I don't live in the area anymore, but it's the best bar in Salisbury.
Great bar staff, good for games, and good beer specials during NFL games which reminds me, the guy doing the TVs has no clue how to coordinate the change over from the early to late games. Â Trivia night on Wednesdays are also good.
The food is halfway decent. Â The fries are actually pretty good as are the boneless wings.
It used to be a bigger draw on Friday and Saturday nights back in the day because they had a DJ, but that ended because the Isabella Street folks started coming in and must've had the management contemplating to rename it "Brown Turtle"...
If you're looking for a rowdy place to hang out, this is a good bet. This is a loud sports bar, so don't expect to have a deep conversation with someone. The Greene Turtle sports at least 50 TVs, many of them small private TVs for individual booths. The reason for the 2 stars is for the service at my recent visit; it was almost nonexistent. They apologized and said they were not expecting such a large crowd; it was a Thursday night, and the Ravens were playing on the NFL network, which most people do not have as part of their cable package at home.
The food is average sports bar fare. I had a flatbread crab pizza, which was pretty good. Hubby had boneless wings, which were okay. We had a chocolate chip cookie sundae for dessert -- again, okay.
Hubby and I went on a day about 3 years after our very first date at the same restaurant. We had been set up and he suggested The Greene Turtle as the place to meet. The restaurant was probably even more noisy that night (a Thursday football night!), so it was very tough to talk. Hubby admits that he picked The Greene Turtle so he could watch the game in case I was boring or unattractive. I guess I was neither, as we are now married! (BTW, we finished our first date at the Barnes and Noble coffee shop next door -- much quieter!)
