I don't usually write reviews for a first time visit, but this one calls for it.
Our family of six came without a reservation (we weren't sure what time we would get there, and it's a Monday). Â There was a very large gathering of 30-40 persons celebrating in front of the restaurant at the bar area. Â We were seated immediately at a large and very comfortable table.
Our server Felicia was so good, Bern's would steal her if they could. Â She explained the crazy mixed up menu of Japanese, American and Italian cuisines, what the specials were, and often checked on us and communicated very well. Â Apparently, there are three chefs who control each style, but I'm not sure. Â It was quite loud in the restaurant and the celebrating group at one point controlled the floor. Â However, it was brief, and the whistling patrons were asked to stop doing so. Â There was complete control by management.
We never informed our server we were celebrating a milestone birthday for my daughter, and yet she went above and beyond. Â
As far as food: Â My husband had a gluten free pasta dish, with sausage and chicken. Â The pasta I tasted was really good, and he very much enjoyed it. Â My chicken saltimbocca was good, but a bit too salty and the minute sauce was thick for my taste. Â Â This might have had to do with the kitchen trying hard to bring the Japanese and two other cuisine styles on the menu at the same time. Â Our server informed us this would be difficult.
A relative had an Alfredo chicken dish. Â I didn't try it, but everyone who did loved it. Â The birthday girl enjoyed her sashimi of scallops and octopus. Â My other daughter's steak salad came out late. Â However...an entire sliced steak was perfectly cooked as she asked on top of the salad. Â
The only other negative was another relative would have liked a larger piece of Mahi Mahi and I will agree. Â
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant and Felicia as a server.
Although I am not frequently in the Trinity area, I have eaten at this restaurant on 3 separate occasions. Â Each time that I have stopped in, I have been pleased with the experience. Â Due to how good Grille 54 is expect to see a wait even during the week. I have dined off of the sushi menu and the regular menu, which both have many offerings.
On my last visit, we started with the buffalo risotto balls (YESSSSSSSSSS) and the bruschetta. Â I would recommend both appetizers, especially the risotto balls. Â I went for the bacon wrapped scallops with the honey jalapeno glaze. Â Scallops are my favorite and these did not disappoint. Â I will likely go to Grille 54 again the next time I am in this area!
It's a little known fact that I am an avid motorcycle enthusiast and belong to a local bike gang. Nothing big, just a group of about ten of us who like to strap on some leather, rev up our bikes and hit the town. We recently decided to take a leisurely drive through Pasco County and see the sights. All of the excitement Pasco County had to offer really worked up our appetites, so we decided to stop in to Grille 54 and have a bite to eat. Grille 54 is located in a plaza that also hosts an Outback Steakhouse, so it was difficult to find parking for my BMW K1600GTL. After finally securing a spot, my fellow bikers and I made our way inside and were surprised to discover such a long wait at 8:30 on a Thursday night. This place was hoppin'! We decided to wait and grab some drinks at the bar, and luckily after not too long of a wait, we were seated at a large table outdoors. Boy did it feel good to sit down with a drink after cruisin' all evening. We started off with some apps, and I ordered the bruschetta for the table. It was good, not the best I have ever had, but still tasty. A couple of my biker friends ordered the risotto balls, and they were out of this world. I highly recommend ordering these as an app. Â I was devastated to discover that the restaurant was out of the gnocci casa...I had a real hankerin' for those delicious little potato pillows. Instead, I settled for the chicken benevento which was good, but just was not what I was in the mood for. Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy their drinks and meals. We had one incident where some funky tasting wine came out, but our server gladly replaced those glasses with fresh ones, and all was right in the world again. Â I would definitely eat at Grille 54 again, as there is something on the menu for everyone. My gang and I are already planning to rev up our bikes and head out one weekend for Sunday brunch....can't wait!
