I am torn between giving three stars and four stars. Since I can't give three and a half, I'll give them a four for freshness. First, this is a very small roadside grill. There is a bit of seating inside (seats 12 or so), but there is more seating outside in a courtyard-type area. The main basis of the restaurant seems to be to keep it small. Family owned, family operated. Service was fine. Because they are family owned, their business hours are a bit choppy. We've driven across town on several occasions, just to find that they were closed. When they are open, it is only for the lunch "hour" and dinner "hours".

The bad and good; Sodas were bottled (plastic) and warm. The good; we were given cups of ice to cool the drink down. The bad; because the drinks were warm, this just made them watery.

I considered ordering the Teriyaki burger, but ordered the green chile cheese burger instead. The good; It still came with Teriyaki on it. The bad; wayyyyy too much Teriyaki on it. It was drenched, and dripping, and overwhelming.

The Green Chile Cheese burger was really good and tasty. As stated above it was drenched in Teriyaki sauce. Burger was very well done, just the way I like it. The bun was very good and seemed homemade. The bad; Burger did not come with fries, you had to order them separately. The good; The fresh cut homemade fries were really good.

Like I said, I would rather give this restaurant 3 1/2 stars, but because it wasn't awful, and because it was basically good - just could use some improvements  - and mostly because the food was fresh (not frozen microwaved junk), I'm giving them 4 instead of 3. Also, restaurant could be cleaner. Would like to see some expansion and improvements... but, being on the far side of town with neighborhoods on one side that wouldn't pay $7 for a burger, and neighborhoods on the other side that wouldn't want to lower themselves to a burger...it would probably be very hard to keep busy enough to keep it going. So... accept it for what it is, a small family owned roadside grill... and you'll like it for a decent burger every now and again....

My original review (below, wirtten last year, don't recall when) was removed for some reason.

I agree with Nick on many points, and the mediocre to poor level of customer service he mentions at the restaurant seems a rather common feature of local businesses, I have yet to acertain why though I have my suspicions.  I stand by my original review. This was not an attempt to slam anyone - I just wasn't impressed by the food or service.  When the owner is demeaning to her employees within earshot of the customer, I think the customer has a right to have a low opinion of the business - and this is the reason we will not go back.

"I will give them credit for trying creative things - tempura battered poppers - interesting and not bad - just needed salt. Overall the food was good (burgers and the like), but not amazing. Prices were high, and hey, I live on the other side of town, and for you locals, you know how far out this place is - even just from downtown!"

The good:  Tasty hamburgers and a fully stocked bar.

The bad:  The service (at the restaurant) last time I went there was horrible.  They took my order, lost the order, took it again, lost it again (as I waited and waited), then finally, only after I asked after waiting thirty minutes, did they start making it.  The order taker was truly lost!  There is no excuse for this kind of incompetence.

On the plus side, the service at the bar was great!!
