Gulf Breeze Cafe

Eat before you go through the security gate, but if you don't, there's the Gulf Breeze Cafe. Simple service and your meals come out on a paper plate. They ran out of the sandwich option I wanted, so I ended up with a sort of ham and cheese combo. The bread was surprisingly good, and the crispy chips were good.

Fit the bill for a no-fuss meal before getting on my flight!

If you are hungry after you go through security at the Sarasota airport (B gates) know that you will only have one choice of where to eat . . . .and drink as the case may be.  The Gulf Breeze Cafe is that place.

I popped in to see what I could get to eat before a recent flight to Chicago which was boarding at the gate next door.  While the actual restaurant has pizza, and paninis that you can order at the bar or at any of the various tables located within- I went for the Wolfgang Puck pre packaged food that was in the refrigerated case up front.

I have to say, my Caesar salad was quite good.  Lots of fresh crunchy romaine, plenty of grilled chicken and all of the condiments on the side like dressing, croutons, cheese and some type of a tomato relish.  At $9.90, it actually ended up being worth the money which so many airport foods are not.  And I loved that I could use or not use the various extras.

Airport food is known for being good, but in this case, the Gulf Breeze Cafe (and bar) pulled it off.  And if your flight gets delayed . . .just sidle up to the bar and have them pour you a cold one.  Trust me . . .it makes the time go by faster!
