  Boo fake IHOP where the real IHOP used to be.... but what? Same utensils, paintings, and even syrup containters? Why did I leave the cabin for this?....
  We had good service for the group of crazies that went.
  
  I would not return, but it's edible fo' sho.

  This used to be the IHOP in Big Bear, not sure why it changed names recently but it's pretty much still an IHOP by a different name.  
  
  I was craving blueberry pancakes so I ordered one of the breakfast platters and asked to substitute blueberry pancakes.  My mexican waiter asked if I wanted 'blueberries inside and outside'?  LOL.  Damn, they were good pancakes though.  
  
  The decor is pretty bad as the other reviewers have noted.  Spend a couple bucks to update the place please.  
  
  Great location right outside the Village near the lake.  If the weather is cold this is where I'll be eating breakfast.

  This place was okay.  It was exactly like a IHOP.  They even still had IHOP menus around the place. Service was fast and the prices where the same.  I would come back.

  Pretty bad.  Our waitress was friendly and the service was fast, but thats pretty much where the good stuff ended.
  This is just your basic Dennys style food (according to other reviews this used to be an ihop, and you can tell), without the cheerful decor, or alright food.
  Ok, so the pancakes were good, but the overcooked eggs and hash browns left me unimpressed and disappointed. We ended up here because the wait was too long at the Teddy bear diner down the street, but I wish we had stuck it out.

  This place is lamo.  Service bad, decor was worse, and the food took forever.  Was with my 7th old son. He ordered the Mac cheese and my chicken fried steak came out before his meal.  By the time his plate showed up I was half done with my meal.  Also ordered the seasoned fries and when I got them it had a sprinkle of pepper on a couple of them.  Do not go here if your expecting to get a quick inexpensive breakfast/lunch.  I'll go to a Denny's or IHOPs before I step foot in this place again.  Don't waste your time or money at this place!

  Oh my...times must not be good if the IHOP had to shut down and become a fake IHOP haha.  The menu is almost exactly the same, maybe missing items which are replaced with mexican items.  How do I know this?  I was just at IHOP a week ago and was ordering off the senior menu for my parents.  The senior menu at Happy Bear is the same, hilarious.  The only real difference is the price.  The food is like any other IHOP, mediocre except for the harvest grain pancakes =d
  
  -Crepe combo:  I decided to order the crepe combo because you could order nutella crepes with the combo (2 bacon, 2 sausage, and 2 eggs) without an upcharge and it was $7.99 =D!!!  The descriptions need to be better on their menus.  I had no clue that my nutella crepes came with bananas or strawberries.  The banana was definitely a plus but the strawberries weren't because I don't like boiled down fruit in a syrup.
  -Machaca plate:  My friend said this was pretty good but was sad that it topped nachos instead of having tortillas provided.  He asked the waitress for tortillas and she provided them without a fuss so, FYI all you tortilla lovers =)
  -BLT:  Triple decker with 6 strips of bacon in EACH layer.  Choice of onion rings or fries.  ...12 strips of bacon per sandwich...need I say more?
  
  Their breakfast is pretty standard and like any other diner.  Hopefully they start renovating and adding things to make the decor less IHOPy and more homey and beary =)  It IS called Happy Bear Diner after all.  I'm hoping for a guy dressed like a bear making balloon animals in the future *hint hint* ;)
