Harlows of Lawton

I'd like this tavern more if it weren't hidden away inside of a hotel.

But, yes, it is within Ramada Inn. Not exactly the best environment for a bar that tries to be upscale. At least it isn't in an airport parking lot.

The place is actually next to Lawton's best park and the main interchange along Interstate 44.

Harlow's main attraction is a clean and somewhat quiet environment and an upscale customer base. This is one of the favorite watering holes of Lawton's movers and shakers. You can rub elbows with prominent real estate brokers, city councilmen and other professional types. The place is not so upscale that a dress code is required. But you're not going to fit in there if you're "waving the flag in the name of White Trash."

Harlow's is more of a happy hour place rather than a night spot people frequent until 2:00am. Many of the customers have jobs and need to be up early the next day. Wednesday after 5:00pm may be the best time to visit.

UPDATE: Harlow's is either the only bar in Lawton (or one of very very few) that is smoke free. The bar owner did not choose that; rather, the new smoking ordinance which went into effect earlier this year stung the bar. Since the bar's main entrance is in the Ramada Inn lobby smoking is not allowed in the bar.

This development certainly angers some people, but I see it as a positive. I'm a non-smoker and I'll certainly appreciate being able to visit one bar where when I leave I won't smell like a filthy ashtray!
