This place is the WORST for food and their beer is often flat and way overpriced. Harp and Dragon is running on the rave reviews of when they USED to have an awesome menu and a great "Happy Hour."  which was discontinued several months ago.  The "New" menu is overpriced.  The food is NOT good.  The portions are extremely small and the cook needs to be forced to eat his own cooking.  Sad that the managers have turned a once wonderful bar and restaurant into a dive not worthy of even one star.

I want so badly to like this place. This part of CT needs a good pub and this is not it. It's horrible food misses the mark, greatly. My husband and I went out for a quick bite on a Friday night after a LONG week at work. I ordered a mushroom sandwich and he a turkey/stuffing/cranberry sandwich. What we got was adequate at best. The only part that was good was the dill dipping sauce. The raved about cottage chips were obviously frozen while not bad certainly not great. Nothing special. Just a fry cut in a different shape. The bourbon stout my husband ordered was heinous. He couldn't finish. I have never tasted something so vile. I've tried many beers I don't like but nothing as horrible as this in my life. It tasted like a stout with a shot of bourbon dumped into it. Which, in retrospect, is what I think it was. Yuck! And to our surprise, the UNMARKED & unpriced beer on the menu was $14!!!!!  My husband and I felt like we were tricked and feel like it is horrible practice not to warn your patron in some fashion that they were about to take a chance on a beer that costs THREE TIMES AS MUCH as a tasty one. Agreed we ordered it but who thinks to ask, is my beer going to cost $14? It should have been marked on the menu as were other beer in that price range and because it was NOT labeled it is then the responsibility of the server to make us aware. Bottom line - that is bad business practice. Our meal was finished with a bread pudding that was so dry & burnt we had to send it back. They did take that off the check and thank god because when we got the bill and noticed my mushroom sandwich with onion rings was $16 and the total for a "quick bite" and two beers each was $71 we really wished we hadn't taken a chance on something we so badly wanted to be good.

This place is not adequate, this place is not mediocre. Don't go hungry and only order beer you have tried before.
