I agree with most reviews. Â Even though our room was non-smoking, you can smell the smoke coming from the ventilation. Â They need to do a better job with this. Â The hotel room and bathrooms are really nice though. Â They have a small casino with a few restaurants in the casino level - Craftsteak, Juniors, food court and some other one. Â Most of all the restaurants and two other huge casinos are located in Foxwoods Casino - they have a long walkway connecting the two properties. Â It is a long walk.
Next time I will stay at the Foxwoods casino.
I stayed here for free because my mom had a comped room, so I went along with her. The rooms are really nice, almost Vegas-esque, but I dont htink I would shell out $400+ per night for them! THe beds are moderatly comfortable, and the bathroom is jsut too big. It has a glass shower door, that doesnt close all the way, so after the shower there was a huge puddle on the floor.
The casino is small, but its a quick walk over to the Foxwoods side. I dont know why people keep saying 15min + walk.. how slow do you walk? If you are unable to walk, tehre is a shuttle that can take you down to the bingo/buffet side of foxwoods.
I contracted hot tub folliculitis from the hot tub here in August. The next morning, I woke up with bumps all over my body, with the worst areas directly under my swimsuit line. It was so miserable that I couldn't sleep for nearly three days and had to go to the emergency room, where they diagnosed it as hot tub folliculitis. I never go in hot tubs, so clearly this is where it came from.
When we contacted the hotel, they were very slow in getting back to us. We only asked that they would cover the emergency room expenses. They respond several weeks later saying that they had tested the water that day and the chemicals were normal. Well, obviously they weren't!!
Not very smart, Foxwoods. As semi-frequent guests who often spend quite a bit of $$$ there, we will now be taking our future business to Mohegan Sun. And I'm now permanently afraid of hot tubs.
