Nice place for chicken, if you want only chicken. I should give 4 stars if that is all I wanted for lunch. the sides were mediocre at best. The whole restaurant needs a cleaning, not particularly dirty or filthy just lots of dirt on windows, window sills. Bathroom needs to be bombed and with a do over also. Â If I came thru again I would get chicken take out and supply my own sides.
Review Source:The food is amazing, tastes home-cooked. The staff and customers are all very nice and the girls behind the counter even entertained my kids while we waited. Â We call ahead and have them prepare large orders for family parties several times a year. The prices are fantastic, you can't beat it.
Review Source:Look past the cheezy decor to indulge in awesome Southern fare. Â Fried chicken & cole slaw are the best. Â Kids love the huge potato wedges. Â The place was not created by some genius restraunteur, but by a guy who loves to make good fried chicken for people who like good fried chicken. Â This is not health food or we'd go more than a couple times a month. Â Good home-syle country cookin' for eat-in, carry-out or take to a picnic. Â A vegetarian friend buys Harvest Chicken's coleslaw for pot lucks or picnics.
Review Source:We've tried this place several times, and it's remarkably good.
Look, the decor sucks. Seriously, its chicken theme looks like a 90-year-old grandma decorated a leased space in a strip mall. After dark, the fluorescent lights do nothing to make the place cheery, either.
But get past all that. Or just get the food to go. Because seriously, the food is amazing.
Their specialty is the fried chicken, which is crispy outside, juicy inside, and just enough grease to add that extra bit of flavor to the meat, and your fingertips. I haven't tried the wings or grilled chicken, but I have no doubt those would also stand on the same pedestal as the fried chicken.
You'll also want to save room for the sides. Things like the coleslaw and baked beans are great accents (especially with big chunks of pork in the beans), or just go whole-hog and get a big serving of the creamy mac & cheese.
The staff is always friendly and patient while you peruse the menu, while the people in line behind you may not be. When in doubt, let them go first - trust me, it's worth the wait.
Definitely a place that should be added to your regular rotation.
