We were on a motorcycle trip with about 20 friends and ended up spending the day here due to pouring rain. Â This place was recommended by our hotel manager, it was a Great recommendation. Â Big, covered deck with TVs for watching football was perfect for our group as well as a few other groups that come in after we did. Â Free pool table, good food, great service and fabulous drinks and beer. Â We spent 6 hours here and we were never bored.

The minute you walk in there it smelled and it looked unclean. All the bartenders were rude and unwelcoming. The owner was completely unprofessional and exteamly rude. He refused to take back a meal that wasn't even cooked and made me pay for it or he would call law enforcement. Drinks were terrible. I would say stay away from here. I've never had such an unpleasant experience before.
I came here recently for a friends reunion during Oktoberfest. We decided to go here because we heard they had karaoke for the girls and they were playing the football for the guys.
Our waitress, Cynthia, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I should have known we were in trouble when we asked for her name when we first got there and stated,"My name is Cynthia, and I'm the biggest bitch here". This was the last honest thing she did all night.
We ordered quite a few drinks as well as some food. The food was OK but nothing great. Beers were fine (they were advertising $1 PBR's on their board), but the shots were awful. At one point we ordered a shot and they sent us out some weird mixed drink which was awful. Every time Cynthia would bring us a round of shots she took it upon herself to get herself one and drink with us.
The atmosphere was relaxed and rustic but there were smokers everywhere. My throat hurt for the entire next day just from breathing that crap in and there were no other seating options with the game on so we had to suffer through it.
Fast forward to the end of the football game. We ask for our bill and notice that she has doubled all the drinks we actually had and charged us for our friends drinks who had come after we had ordered even though they ordered and paid at the bar. I think she thought we were much more intoxicated than we were and would just pay without looking at the bill-wrong! We had to argue with her to get the drinks taken off and bring us back a new bill. We did this a total of four times, each time she would take off one drink we didn't order but would add on a different (obviously to cover her shots, which we never authorized, nor would I condone while she is on the clock). They also claimed they did not have $1 PBR's even though we showed them the sign (apparently that was from night before, but it was still up so they should have honored it without any argument). Finally the manager came over and fixed everything (and resulted in a bill that was $100 less than what she was originally trying to charge us) but it was 45 minutes after receiving our initial bill. Go to Big Daddy's or the Margarita Bar if you actually want to be valued as a customer. This place sucks.
I visited Hayloft with a group of friends during Oktoberfest opening weekend. Â The atmosphere is laid back and they had karaoke going most of the night. Â Seemed to be a place where most of the locals hang out. Â It is two stories with an outdoor patio/balcony upstairs. Â
To be completely honest, the best selling point about this place was the $1 PBRs! Â Our group had had a good amount to drink and when it came time to pay, I guess our server, Cynthia, thought that we wouldn't notice if she added a few shots to the bill here and there, and even added drinks we had not even ordered! Â When we confronted her about it, she became extremely rude! Â So much for trying to be civil about the situation; never before had I encountered such a hostile individual within the service industry! Â It was like pulling teeth trying to get upper management to intervene and after about 45 minutes we got our tab straightened out. Â
Really hoped for better service since the atmosphere wasn't too bad. Â Also would have preferred for the place to be non-smoking. Â Bottom line, if you are a smoker and like cheap beer and bad service Hayloft is the place to be!
Fantastic selection of burgers which were cooked perfectly and delicious. All food in Helen is overpriced, so $8.50 for a burger and fries may seem like a lot, but it was a great meal. Also, the waitress recommended the creamy garlic wings which were on a happy hour special, and they were smoking hot and amazing. Not much atmosphere and this is clearly a bar first, but food is worth the trip. Sit downstairs or out on deck to avoid cigarette smoke and the drunk barflies.
Review Source:a few of my close friends went to the hayloft a few nights ago and the waitress took our order then she took off and wasn't seen of. thirty minutes passed and another waitress comes over and asked us if we have been helped well we gave her our order and again and she came back from the bar with our drinks my friend ordered a sex on the beach they brought it back in a shot glass and it was a yellow color she said this isn't a sex on the beach the waitress said what is a sex on the beach supposed to look like my friend said its supposed to be in a regular sized glass and its supposed to be red colored and fruity with ice in it. the waitress went back to the bar and brought back yet another drink that wasn't even close to a sex on the beach my friend said she wasn't gonna pay for the drinks cause they were awful and not what she ordered. apparently the regular bartenders went home one with a hangover and the other with a bleeding nose. the bouncer ended up at our table and rudely asked my friend why she was drinking half of the drink then sending it back she wasn't drinking half she tasted the drink to see if it was right. never in my life had we ever been treated this way. the owner or manager had said to the waitress that they had to pay for the drinks and that we were no longer allowed to be served there and we needed to leave my other friend ordered a lemon drop and it was also wrong. the friend that ordered the sex on the beach got sick from sipping off of the glasses. there are also other sites for reviewing this restaurant and there are also many other outraged customers. also we went there b4 and the drinks were great but the service was still bad. dont go there they need a new manager or a new owner
Review Source:Its a bar, so there is cigarette smoke, hence the 2 star ratings. I hate to be around cigarette smoke.
On the upside, the whole reason we went was to see the band that was playing, Jeremiah & the Bullfrogs. Â They are good musicians.
Also on the upside, no cover charge. So maybe I am being harsh with the 2 star rating. I just can't get past why the hell people smoke. Hello, cancer. Ever hear of that, Â ya bunch of smokers??
Beer by the pitcher, we drank Fat Tire, dunno how the prices on that were, I get by on my good looks. I would imagine they are in line with the other bars. Server was good once we finally got one, a bit of an organizational problem at first. Seems no one was assigned any table in particular.
They have an outside deck that would be good to get away from the smokers but then you can't see the band. Â People were eating food, but I prefer mine not to taste like an ashtray so we ate elsewhere.
