This place is so smokey that smokers sit in the non-smoking section. The plume of smoke greets you as you ascend up their escalator. If you're a non-smoker like me (or simply want to eat AND breathe), hang a quick right to the less-smoke "no smoking" section.
Service was friendly but slow. Southern style, I guess. The menus were BADLY frayed. I ordered the spicy chicken wings ($7.99). You get a choice of wing sauces: spicy chipotle chili, zesty BBQ, buffalo sauce or plain. For dipping, you can choose between blue cheese or ranch. I went with chipotle & blue cheese.
The order included 7 wingettes & a small bag o' Lays potato chips, and old, withered greenery (i.e. celery). The wings were small but cooked well and tasty.
Chanda S. was my server and I have to give her credit; unlike her counterparts, she hustled! She saved this review from being only one star!
The only reason this establishment is in business is because they allow customers to smoke openly, at least, that's my belief. An escalator leads up to an entire floor dedicated to this bar-restaurant. At the top of the stairs, a cloud of smoke forms around you. Under the smell of nicotine is dirty floors and grease. I'm a non-smoker, and I understand that this experience may feel like Heaven to some.
We found a small section of the restaurant to be deemed as non-smoking, so we made our way to that area and found a seat. The air was surprisingly fresher, though the smell of uncleaned grills and deep fryers was even more apparent without the cover of cigarette smoke. Our server came to us after about 7 full minutes of waiting, and we placed our order: "You want the feta cheese? We don't have it... here are your other options"; "You wanted chicken? We're out of it. Yes, we're out of all chicken". Just what I wanted, a plain salad for $8.99.
We should have left then, but instead, we sat around and waited. And waited. Eventually our food came out on small styrofoam plates with packaged plastic cutlery. Maybe this is a requirement of the airport, but it certainly adds to the seediness of the place. It also made the portions much smaller, and absolutely overpriced.
For the record, we never saw our server again. We thought about simply leaving money on the table and leaving, but instead sought out another server for the check. We happened to see our waitress in the process, talking on the phone by the deep fryer. Awesome.
