The Hen House was a great place to hang out for the first time for me.
2 bars and and a volleyball court. You don't find a place like this very often. No charge for us at the front door either. All though it does have some people that just can't control their consumption of the alcohol and act up very immature. I think every bar has that. Good Dj music too. It was an interesting place that night.
The benefit of the doubt...
Okay, been here about four times now. Â Rating: 2.5 for the outside bar.
Bartender chick who is usually there when I went is not friendly.
It seems like clicqueiness. Â I think that Redding has a serious problem with servers in bars. Seems like a pretty lame crowd that can't mingle, can't say hi or be pleasant.
The redeeming factor is the outdoor bar.
But people seems to be kind of on edge and not able to chat. What's with that, drugs? Or just oddballs?
I came to this bar on a Tuesday night. It was far from busy; Â about 10 patrons, including the people I came with. The service was great, the place clean, and the drinks fairly priced. I love a place with a jukebox and this spot has one! Although we didn't play, there is a sand volleyball court in the back. My friends and I sat outside on the deck the few hours we were there and it was comfortable and fairly private due to the lack of patrons. Next time my husband and I visit his home town we will likely return to this place to have some drinks and maybe a game or two of volleyball.
