Great Restaurant!  Good quality food with great service.  Ambiance galore!  Simple country inn right down to it's wide oak flooring and vaulted ceilings.  If you are looking for a getaway to something "quiet"  then this is it!  Bring a book....not much around.  Or take a ride in the scenic countryside!  They have a B&B.  A nice place to go!

It was a little tricky finding this place mainly because we missed a turn due to at least one road not having a road name sign.  A quick call to HBF put us back on track and it was very worthwhile getting there.

There were only two of us and they sat us at a table for two but served us family style which we enjoyed.  The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and a nice variety.  Started with thick sliced homemade bread with applebutter, peaches and a small salad with hot bacon dressing which was very good.

The main courses were crab imperial (best I ever had), BBQ ribs that fell apart, roasted chicken breasts that simply fell apart but were very juicy.  Along with potatoes cooked in onion soup, corn fritters, broccoli with cheese, sautéed apple slices, cooked carrots.  Fresh brewed iced tea with lemon & mint was very good.

The only slight disappointment was the dessert selection.  There were several choices & you could have one choice but none of the choices were pie or cake.  I was hoping for homemade carrot cake or chocolate cake.  There was a chocolate mousse offering but it said "sugar free", I guess for diabetics.  Scoops of ice cream, apple crisp, one or two other things.   I got happier when I saw ice cream pie however there was only one flavor which was cherry.  I am not a cherry fan but I had the ice cream pie because the other choices did not appeal to me.

I would definitely go back to this place.  The grounds and building are well kept and beautiful.  A museum is on the premises and a small country store.  We were just interested in our dinner so we skipped the museum and just glanced inside the store.  There is a lovely building housing their bed & breakfast section.  But the food is scrumptious and the main attraction for us.

Hickory Bridge Farm is a family style restaurant west of Gettysburg. The food may not be gourmet but is excellent "home cooking". Meals are served family style in the real Pennsylvania Dutch tradition. Hickory Bridge Farm is located in what could have been a barn at one time. This is not a negative at all and is really quite pleasant. We've been three times and have never been disappointed.
    This is a real treat.
