My review is for the new BBQ food. We had the combo plate with ribs, hot links & chicken with potato salad and beans. The meats had a wonderful smoked flavor- sauce light and not too sweet. The hot links were SPICY- just the way I like it! Beans were great, and potato salad was fresh and yummy. I'll definitely be back for the food.

The staff - as people- are great - but it seems like they have little or no bar management experince. They just dont know what to do when sh!t goes down.. And not to mention the type of people who frequent this bar have changed  LOT
Long story short we've expereinced bar fights there - during which both of us got hit multiple times - neither of us were involved in the fight.
They need to figure there business out with the previous fight and now a death at this place - the cops will be all over it - and rightfully so.
I really hope they get there act together - it used to be a really fun place.
I've been to this bar a couple of times now. I have to say that the bartender, BELLA is as good as they get. She works very hard behind the bar and is very attentive and friendly to her customers.
Also, the food out of the kitchen is amazingly awesome. That guy makes the best shrimp/rice combo I have ever tasted.
I just moved to a home I purchased (right behind the bar), and I'm very pleased with this little bar for it's homey atmosphere, good food, and the best bartender in the State.
Dive bar delight!
I came here with my husband for a friend's friend's 30th birthday. It was fun and the bartender, Amanda, is super courteous, quick and awesome.
One pool table smack dab in the middle. They also serve food and for a dive bar, the food was pretty damned good!

Cool little place down on Monterey Highway. Â Pretty recently updated....new TV's, etc.
We swung through for a late-night drink stop. Â Nice place to grab a drink, grab a stool, and just hang out. Â Juke box was running, music was mixed. Â Looks like they have started adding in some weekly events (beer pong, DJ nights). Also has a kitchen running for some bar food.

BEWARE!!! Â I went here for a night out with friends after work for a few drinks. Â I spent $30.00 and dropped a 20% tip for a total of $36.00. Two days later, I see the $30.00 charge on my bank account along with a new charge for $103.00. A bartender stole my card number and illegally used it to get a nice big tip. She was an older woman with lots of make-up always calling people 'honey'. I called and explained that I had my receipt and that a new charge was appearing on my acct from their business. Â I got HUNG UP ON. I'm getting my money back with a fraud report at my bank. Â Not to mention the place is a dump, Â there were some really sketchy rude people in and outside the place. the music is so LOUD you can't hear your friends, and I got offered drugs the first time I visited. Â STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
Review Source:It use to be Monterey Roadhouse but then Jen, a former bartender, bought it out and made a lot of changes. It's geared more toward the young but welcoming to all clientele and still a pit stop for local bikers from time to time.
Juke box, pool, video game that's always being swapped out for something new, two patios, flat screen TV's, DJ's and beer pong on saturday nights, good bar food, decent lineup of bartenders including Jen whenever she fills in.
Tucked away on Monterey Hwy in deep South San Jose it is the place to be in the neighborhood.
My friend Matthew told me about this place. Â Even though he never showed...it's not bad. Â I'm not sure where the 5 star reviews came but it's a nice enough place. Â Parking is hard to come by. Â They do serve food and it's good. Â My friend got the nachos and half the bar was at our table picking at them. Â Drinks are cheap ;)
Review Source:" The place to be on the south-side" New ownership has really improved the night life here. Drink specials and the stiff drinks keep me coming back! Six T.V.'s during Football season is awesome plus the pool table bowling game and touch screen always keep me entertained. To top it off they have a full kitchen that cooks up the best burger I've ever had ! This place is exactly what the south side needed !

And the owner Jenn knows a thing or two about running a bar - she was friendly to everyone there and takes care of her customers!
