Listed on a book run. Stopped there on a Monday for a Reuben Sandwich. The best Reuben I ever had. Homemade Potatoe Salad (delicious). Root Beer on tap with a chilled glass. Met the owner, nice fellow. If you're in the area, don't miss it.

I've lived here for quite awhile, but have never gone to Hink's. On a whim, I decided to check it out for lunch.

Hink's was very much what I expected decor-wise. Wood paneling, dark, harley memorabilia -- a real townie bar. Depsite having a no smoking law in effect for years, the place seemed to still have that old smoke smell.

Several locals sat at the bar sipping drinks in the middle of the afternoon. Some were quietly sipping my themselves, others were a bit more talkative, conversing about who is marrying who, and other town gossip.

There was one bar tender, who was also the waiter. The orders are "phoned in" to the basement where I assume the kitchen is. When the order is ready the food is delivered via a dumbwaiter and a light goes off. This process was very amusing for me.

The sandwich I ordered (forgot name) had grilled chicken, bacon and cheese on a pretzel roll. It was actually a pretty decent sandwich, better than I expected.

The fries were ho-hum. I prefer PJ's fries over these frozen ones.

Since I am comparing it to PJ's (Court House Tavern), I'd have to say that it is a step down from PJ's, but a step up from MVPs food-wise.

We didn't do drinks, but they had a decent selection of beers on tap. I assumed they'd only have PBR and Miller Light, but they had some decent brews in the line-up. Nice job.

While not exactly our cup of tea (overall), I would go back for a sandwich sometime.

    I love this bar!
The food is always absolutely delicious, the bartenders are great and the atmosphere is just awesome. I feel at home here, and it is definitely my favorite bar in the area.

Had lunch at my favorite spot in Sycamore today. The menu has changed a little. I had the chicken sandy with bacon and cheddar on a pretzel bun. Holy S--t! out of this world. I would have to say that Hinks is know for being a biker bar. I am not a Harley guy at all and feel very comfortable bringing my young kids in this place. It was very kewl people watching today. We saw bikers guys and chicks as well as very dressed up conservative ladies having lunch.  I am very impressed with the quality of the food here. If you haven't tried Hinks, you are missing out.

Lots of fun, good bar food, and root beer on tap! Crazy for a biker bar! They have great customer service and the owner makes you feel like a long time customer!

Love this place. It is a Biker Bar that is run with class. $2.25 for a PBR or Old Style Tall Boy Can! That is what I am talking about. It is hard to run a Bar now a days, but try and make it a little affordable with deals like this. I haven't ate any of the food yet, but I will give it a try sometime.

I'm glad I found this place, I moved to Dekalb last Fall and hadn't found any cool Bars until I found this one.

If you have never had a shot of Malort, buy 2, one for you, one for Paulie the bartender. Do it.

My fiance and I really like this bar. It's got a real hometown feel to it. The owner and the bartenders all provide great service to customers. We eat here often and the food is delicious as well. We love country music and this is one of the only bars that we can go and hear some good country music in Sycamore.

I actually really love this bar.

I was gonna say that there isn't anything special about this bar but that's not true. The food is great, service is top notch and the drinks are cold, affordable and mixed just right. The bathroom is always clean and the pear scented soap is the best.

I may be there tonight having my Brittany Spears Dirty Martini

With the acquisition of mixologist Paul Pruess, Hinks has now become a 5 star drinking establishment.

Great atmosphere and a friendly environment however they serve expired beer that tasted horrible. It was 2 months expired and instead of taking care of it I was told "everyone else is drinking it" i would never go there again for a cold beer. Next time I will walk across the street to the other bar.

I really like Hink's, and for downtown Sycamore it's a pretty good option. The food at Hink's is really great too. Long before I was legal, my family would order take-out and it's probably among the best in town. The owner is really friendly too, and it's a nice place to stop in for a drink with friends.

In downtown Sycamore, there's only two choices to get your sauce on: MVP or this lovely joint.

This is the 'biker' bar in town. You will see the gruff guys coming in with leather on, though I have not on Friday. I saw empty barstools. And tables. With only a handful of people there, we sat at the bar and I had asked for a 'surprise' - I get a Fat Tire placed in front of me with a wink and a line of 'I think this is more up your alley.' For 3 bucks, I'll let most be in my alley.

In this well lit bar, you'll see decor that ranges from the standard Harley gear to the antique cabinets with Gram's china in it. Drinks are pretty cheap and pack a punch. The gin and soda water was way more gin than anything else. They also have Apple Pie Shots - a concoction of apple juice, vodka, real cinnamon, everclear and apple vodka. They brew this by the 50 gallon tubs in the morning since it takes four hours to make. For 3 bucks, it's quite the bargain though I didn't have it. I was stuck driving since I had the taxi hat on.

The Grill closes at 10. This place is also well known for their Fried Ravioli. Play some Danzig on the internet juke box and you may get yourself a new friend at the end of the bar ('Killer Wolf' preferred) or even a new dance partner.
