So the new Molly's is much cleaner since it's pilgrimage down Lincoln Highway. Â However, the establishment has gotten much more out of hand. Â They are so big that there is way to enjoy yourself there. Â
I was waiting in line for the bathroom when another female came in and started vomiting everywhere. Â I understand this is a college bar but I can not honestly accept this behavior. Â She did not even make it to a toilet stall. Â Upon alerting the bouncer to this, he did nothing. Â They allowed this disgusting practice to occur. Â
Now they allow smoking outside. Â I am pretty sure it is supposed to be at least 15 feet from the door. Â Does Molly care? Â No. Â Smoke just billows in. Â My lungs just LOOOVED it. Â
The wonderful Molly's bus? Â Attitude and slow service. Â You work for tips. Â So act like you care. Â I understand you drive drunk people around but seriously, you can be cordial. Â This place knows they are going to get business so they could care less about how they actually treat people. Â
The music was WAY too loud. Â You can barely talk. Â The music is not always a great dance option. Â They just do not try hard enough. Â
My favorite? Â Random theme nights like Irish night in the middle of September...a gross green hat passed around all of the patrons. Â I strongly dislike this place. Â Please close it and put the rest of DeKalb out of their misery.
Not impressed. Â I ordered a Fat Tire from a male bartender. Â He happily got it for me. Â When I went to order another, the female bartender told me they didn't sell it. Â I said yes you do, I just ordered one. Â She exhaled loudly, then proceeded to stomp all over the bar, and slam my drink down on the bar. Â If she feels inconvenienced by getting people their drinks, then maybe she shouldn't be a bar tender.
Music was way too loud, and the punching machine in the back that hands out thongs if you beat the high score is offensive and repulsive.
I did, however, appreciate the drunk bus service that was offered].
I have a love/hate relationship with this bar. It's incredibly popular in Dekalb, but it can be a dive and there is often quite a few creeps roaming around. Service can be terrible so I try to avoid starting a tab on my card if humanly possible. It normally takes forever to close out. However, the outside patio is nice, and it is a fun vibe inside.
